The territory manager-chicago will develop and execute sales strategies for the chicagoland marketThe individual will be responsible for expanding our current relationships within key target accounts as well as creating and managing new opportunities with potential accountsThe individual will be accountable for achieving the key metrics for growing sales and profitability as set by national material company’s (nmc) commercial leadership team.
Duties and responsibilities:
Deliver on annual operating plan for specific territory that is established by nmc commercial leadership team.
Utilize knowledge of company products, services and value-added applications to maximize sales and margin opportunities for current and prospective customers

Work with established list of leads to generate opportunities and well as develop new leads that align with our sales funnel template to generate growth opportunities within the defined territory, and occasionally outside the territory as well.
Strengthen relationships by spending time on site with customers on a regular cadence.
Ensures inside sales team is aligned with strong goals to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Co-owner of material forecast process for all customers.
Continually identify opportunities for margin enhancement.
Provide management with the necessary reporting on a regular and ad hoc basis.
Utilizes functional resources to develop out opportunities at the customer level (va/ve).
Required to visit customer offices monthly or at reasonable regular intervals to deepen relationships.
Own the customer relationship by ensuring consistent and timely follow up to customer and key stakeholder inquiries; operate with a sense of urgency.
Builds cross functional team and customer trust, values others, creative problem solving, and demonstrates high integrity.
Instills a passion for driving deep relationships with core customers.

Demonstrate working knowledge of nmc products and services.
Establish relationships with customer base within territory and successfully establish new incremental business within assigned territory.
Education and experience:
5 to 10 years territory management history required in an outside sales role developing accounts within various industries such as construction/building products, energy, appliance, automotive, etc.
Experience in steel processing or metals related industry required, specifically pre paint.
Significant experience building account relationships within the chicago account area.
Bachelor’s degree
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Excellent negotiation skills, ability to negotiate high volume contracts.
Ability to manage complex projects.
Unquestioned integrity
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders.
Analytical & metric driven.
Advanced working knowledge of microsoft office including advanced skills in microsoft excel.
Basic knowledge of customer relationship management software (crm).

Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel 50%Or more
