The successful candidate will, under supervision, prepare mechanical and/or plumbing design drawings and specifications for new building services construction, existing facilities expansion, and renovation projectsProjects will be of moderate to difficult complexityDesign requirements will be defined by verbal instructions, sketches, and/or formal documentsAble to work without immediate supervision and able to understand project scope and contract requirementsResponsibilities:
Obtains basic data from documents, occupant interviews, and field measurements.
Prepares mechanical and/or plumbing floor plans, site plans, and other drawings for small construction and remodel projects using computer aided drafting techniques.
Compiles specifications and contract documents from existing sources for assigned projects.
Performs field review of existing facilities to determine and verify relevant services and site layout, and to coordinate construction with plans and specifications.
Responsible for system sizing and layout, selection of components for systems.
Assists in preparation of cost estimates and in coordinatoion of construction and renovation projects.
Utilizes autocad, architectural desktop and/or revit equipment and maintains current knowledge of cad technology principles and applications.
Applies project scope and contract requirements to project deliverables.
Works within scope and budget for project tasks
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or ged; at least 5 years of design experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Proven ability to perform the duties specified with prior project experience at an equivalent level of responsibility.
Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited university preferred
Project management experience and capability preferred
Preference to be located in nevada or southern california but remote locations may be considered
Certifications/licenses:
Certificate of competency in architectural drafting preferred.
