Nfi is seeking a senior manager of ecommerce solutions & engineering to lead the engineering solutions for a new and exciting strategic initiative providing ecommerce fulfillment services to the mid-marketThis unique opportunity will provide input to commercial strategy, product design, strategic partnerships, and solutions aligned to the ideal customer profile (icp) of the product offering.
The senior manager of ecommerce solutions & engineering (sm) role will lead client-engineering solutions for merchants in the ecommerce industry by defining the right supply chain solution and providing technical support and expertise in collaboration with business development, product management, and operationsSm will be responsible for leading/facilitating/designing best-in-class integrated solutions for incoming rfps/rfqs incorporating fulfillment management, finance, it, real estate, small parcel management, and other key contributors, as neededThis position reports directly to the senior director, ecommerce.
Essential duties & responsibilities:
Owns the solution and serves as the single program manager and contact point for sales on solution developmentThe role is responsible for deal pricing inputs and requirements; such as engineering resource modeling, facility layout, storage designs, process designs, slotting, capacity planning with noted constraints, warehouse utilization studies, and labor modelsOnce the business is awarded, sm will lead and facilitate solution handover to project management and remain with the project for the lifecycle to steady-state as a member of the project team.
Creates unique competitive advantage in solutions based on design standards, best practices, technologies, and services.
Owns the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of rfp response delivery to merchants in collaboration with sales for an assigned rfp or merchant opportunity.
Develops and leverages the use of approved designs, engineering standards, pre-defined product methods and solutions, leverage of approved content, and marketing standards for the multi-tenant ecommerce product offering.
Collaborates with the product manager, operations, and sales for the development of ecommerce products and services in alignment with company growth strategyBecome an sme expert inside key market verticals of ecommerce.
Leads early adoption programs with key vendors, test pilots, and business case analysis for next-gen services and technology inside the warehouse and supply chainIntegrates innovation into future solutions and design opportunities to create strategic advantage.
Supports sales with client-facing consultancy and pre-sales engagement ahead of rfps.
Attends site visits, and merchant workshops, and facilitates client engagement to develop solution design and architecture.
The role will serve as ecommerce mentor to develop team resources and support their career/skill set development and progressionCreates cross-functional alignment with operations, it, and solutions to support the greater logistics bu.
Be a leader engaging the industry in conferences, boards, and university forums.
Requirements:
Bs degree (engineering, logistics, supply chain, or business)
5-10 years of professional work experience including 3 years of 3pl experience and 1 year in like/similar solutions manager role
Strong business / financial acumen; experience with 3pl commercials and contract standards
Pricing experience with transactional-based pricing for 3pl ecommerce
Demonstrated experience in leading client-facing consultancy and engagement; expertise in team workshop facilitation
Experience with it solutions: wms, tms, erp, b2b integration/apis, it infrastructure
Experience and comfort level working with large amounts of merchant data (advanced statistics/analytics skills a plus)
Strong knowledge of small parcel transportation operations
Vertical market sme inside ecommerce multi-tenant fulfillment operations
Ability to travel up to 50%, (based on needs of the business and project-client engagement)
Preferred:
Industrial engineering degree preferred
A master’s degree / mba is a plus
Lean six sigma greenbelt or higher credentials
Pmp certification and/or direct 3pl operations implementation experience
Business management consulting experience and/or 3pl sales/business development experience
Ecommerce experience (operations, design, and industry), automation, mechanization, and wcs
Experience with small parcel management
Experience with warehousing, network, or transportation simulation tools and technologies
Other:
This is a client-facing position responsible for leading cross-functional teams in support of new business growthDemonstrated communication skills, program management/project management skills, and team facilitation skills are requiredExperience facilitating workshops, team projects, and client consulting engagements is critical.
