The incumbent will be part of the hris group and a primary functional team member of the workday hcm support teamThis is a significant customer-facing role requiring organization and the ability to work hands-on at all levels within navientThis position will partner with human resources subject matter experts to ensure technology change request and enhancements are properly documented, resourced, and on-time.
This role will also require support for production issues including troubleshooting interfaces between various internal and external databases, and auditing of employee and transactional data for accuracyCo-lead system implementations and upgrades, development of integrations to new or existing external or internal touchpoints, hcm systems, and provide ad hoc management reporting as needed.
Essential job functions
1System integration & support
Lead design, testing efforts, and ongoing support of critical workday hr integrations.
Leverage technical skill set acquired through the utilization of workday’s interface builder, workday studio, and custom xslt tools to build and deploy new integrations and implement change requests.
Ensure the availability and accuracy of hr and reporting systems and coordinate issue-resolution with appropriate internal and external parties.
2Business process analysis and optimization
Analyze hr functional business processes and recommend improvements (people, process, technology).
Handle system configuration and implementation of hr business processes (workday).
Support functional areas such as recruiting, benefits, time tracking, absence and leaves, onboarding, and other human capital management functionality to achieve system optimization.
Anticipate upstream and downstream process impacts and implications across multiple systems and recommend actions to minimize.
Understanding business requirements and applying application domain expertise to solve problems.
Develop test scripts to test functionality and ensure that scripts cover all scenarios to ensure business process meets business needs and system functionality.
3System enhancements and functionality implementation
Assist with gathering user requirements for new or changing process and collaboratively work with hr partners to ensure changes asked are technically sound and are sound business practices.
Assist with new set up in system and test functionality to requirements.
Present functionality options to stakeholders and manage deployment.
Collaborate with designated technical staff to coordinate application of configuration changes related to projects, upgrades, and fixes.
Develop test plan and project plan for upgrades/new functionality
4Project management
Lead or significantly contribute to implementations and evaluations of all hr systems enhancements, as well as related business process improvements and systems
Serve as primary liaison between hr systems team and hr subject matter experts.
Research new hr system functionality and provide recommendations for new hr efficiencies
Ensure that all hr system procedures and request follow the proper change management process and ice controls.
5Analyses / reporting
Possess and apply knowledge of the operations environment, human resources reporting standards, and corporate policy and procedures.
Provide ad hoc reporting to management as needed for decision makingUse knowledge base and analytical skills to determine the most efficient means of retrieving and/ or updating data.
Develop and process regular audits of the various databases to ensure accuracy
6Production support
Accurately respond to user requests, assuring compliance with navient’s business rules and external regulatory requirements (exIrs restrictions).
Audit, analyze, and update appropriate databases to ensure accurate hcm processing.
Display original and independent thinking, be a skilled problem solver, be able to adapt quickly to changing situations.
Support configuration changes for all business processes in workday hcm.
Analyze processing procedures and recommend ways to streamline processes.
Minimum requirements
4+ years workday hcm experience including configuration and administration.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems/management information systems, business administration or equivalent.
Computer skills including relational databases, oracle use, and desktop applications.
Experience with development and delivery of reports
Experience with leading a project from end to end including planning, testing, and implementation
Strong pc skills in the microsoft product line including excel and word
Strong knowledge of web languages (javascript, html, etc)
Strong knowledge of xslt document transformations
Experience with computer markup languages including xml and html
Exposure to various programming languages including (sas, sql, java, c+)
Experience with workday studio including development and maintenance
Strong analytical skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred requirements
Technical skills needed to develop ad hoc reporting from multiple and varied databasesUse of standard reporting tools such as peoplesoft query, sql, and crystal.
Ability to travel to other navient offices, or for training / conferences (< 5%).
Experience with kronos
