Motherly is looking for a freelance video producer / social animator to help us reach our goal of inspiring every mom on her journey through motherhood.
Motherly supports mamas through their entire parenthood journey, delivering women-centric content that addresses her whole lifestyle through thousands of articles, images, videos and classesIf you’re passionate about using video to teach moms how to tie a baby wrap, if you think moms deserve more support regardless of how they choose to feed their babies, if you follow all the latest baby + mama product innovations, and if you know exactly which instagram influencers tell it like it really is, then motherly is looking for you.
The freelance video producer / social animator will support the video producer in driving video strategy + production at motherly— finding maximally cost-effective ways to help motherly grow its video across platformsThis is a part-time position: 10 hours per week (40 hours required per month), hours may vary by week.
The freelance video producer / social animator will:
Assist with all phases of video production: pre-production/research, on-set production, and post-production/editing
Develop social-first videos + series
Write, produce + edit video for social + onsite editorial
Shoot original video as needed
Source and curate third-party video assets
Stay up-to-date with current events and trending topics in the parenting space; pitch motherly video angles
Conduct outreach to influencers and on-camera talent
Create animations for social media
Adobe premiere pro and adobe after effects proficiency preferred
Key experience and skill areas required include:
Experience shooting video + editing with adobe premiere pro required
Minimum 2 years of experience in a video production role + video manager role
Expertise with packaging content for social + crafting clever and intriguing social captionsKnows how audiences differ on fb, instagram and pinterest and can optimize posts on each to hit those audiences
Excellent communication skills and intuition for communication strategy at every level — within teams, within the company, to users, and beyond
Can work equally well independently and collaborating with a team
Deadline + details-oriented
Understands a parenting audience and women’s media in an innate way—you understand the stories that women want to read and have a track record of writing and editing those stories
Bachelor`s degree, or equivalent work or educational experience
