Moody’s re-ignite is a 16-week paid full-time opportunity designed for individuals wishing to re-enter the workforce after a minimum two-year hiatusThrough this initiative, we hope to find passionate and dedicated professionals who want to resume their career, hone their individual skills and flourish in their professional journey.
Re-igniters may initially join moody’s for a 16-week duration, with the goal that they will become permanent employees after successfully completing their temporary assignment, or they may be hired as a permanent employee from day one under our supported hiring modelIn either approach, during the initial 16 weeks, in addition to the work associated with their role, re-igniters receive coaching & mentoring, leadership development, networking opportunities, and guidance on trainings that could support them in their re-entry.
The location for this role is flexible and can be remote.
Moody’s analytics axis actuarial system is widely used by life insurers, reinsurers, and consulting firms for pricing, reserving, asset and liability management (alm), financial modelling, capital calculations, and hedgingThe axis actuarial system provides the flexibility to deploy large-scale computing power through an advanced cloud-based delivery platform or installed software.

The actuarial developer will work closely with other actuaries and actuarial developers and will collaborate with our client support, system design and marketing professionalsThey will craft and implement new features for axis and solve actuarial issues posed by our clientsAt this level, the actuarial programmers are working on intermediate to sophisticated code and designing module specific features.
Interpret business requirements for features related to specific axis modules.
Provide feedback on client requirements from a technical perspective.
Analyze and implement solutions and program new features in axis.
Design and implement various features that have wide implication and scope.
Investigate and find the root cause for bugs reported by clients.
Collaborate with client support and qa actuaries to fix defects or develop new features.
Ensure compliance with coding standards.
Specialize and develop expertise in at least one area of actuarial practice.
Participate in interest groups and working groups.
Other duties as assigned.
What you bring
Minimum of a 2-year career hiatus.
Minimum of 5 years work experience prior to career break.
For this role:
A typical candidate usually meets the following criteria:
Have completed at least two actuarial exams.
Have a cgpa of 3.0 / 80.0% or higher.
Additionally, the following qualifications are an asset:
Previous experience in using the axis actuarial system.
At least one previous work term (actuarial or computer science related).
Computer science background, related work experience or a curiosity about programming.
