We are looking for an experienced rf microwave cable signal integrity engineer to model, analyze, and characterize high-speed cables, fixtures, connectors, and systemsThe rf microwave cable signal integrity engineer will be a focal point in providing technical leadership to develop application-specific solutions and provide test and measurement support dataYou will conduct research on new and emerging areas of cable science for use in industries such as ate, mil-aero, automotive, and medical.
This position can be remote with some travel to sites in massachusetts, indiana and mexico.
What you will do in your role
Lead product simulation and testing for next generation microwave coaxial cable products and technology to mate with industry standard rf connectors such as sma, 2.4mm, 1.85mm, etc.
Support management with data to help develop and implement the product and technology roadmap for microwave cable products
Utilize knowledge of product design, termination techniques, materials, processes, production equipment, and testing to aid in problem solving
Work with design engineers to help organize relevant information on product drawings, specifications, and documentation in accordance with applicable test standards
Work with process engineers to improve product quality and consistency
Support test and measurement of cable modeling/simulation, trial runs, engineering experiments, doe’s as necessary to achieve improvement in performance and consistency
Lead product test team to determine product performance, define specifications and test plans, and trouble shoot performance deficiencies; testing includes electrical, mechanical, and environmental performance
Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Prepare and deliver technical presentations
Travel to and coordination with our molex rf team based in mooresville, indiana
Travel to and coordination with our molex production team based in guadalajara, mexico
The experience you will bring
Requirements:
Experience with simulation, design or test experience of microwave coaxial cable products
Experience with cable test methods and equipment such as vna, tdr’s, thermal chambers
Familiarity with concepts in time and frequency domain such as impedance, propagation delay, phase stability, insertion loss, return loss, and skew
Proficient experience in microwave cable testing
What will put you ahead
Master`s degree in electrical engineering
Modeling software experience with hfss
Knowledge of doe (design of experiments)
Process and manufacturing engineering knowledge
Sap experience
Familiarity with rf fixture design
Familiarity with rf connector design
Familiarity with rf cable assembly termination processes
Familiarity with other types of cable designs such as differential pairs
Good knowledge of quality systems
