Recruitment of Experts for the project MANAGING TOGETHER : integrating community - centred , ecosystem - based approaches into forestry ,
agriculture and tourism sectors , in the MalwathuOya Basin
The Biodiversity Secretariat of the Ministry of Environment ( MOE ) is implementing the project “ Managing Together : Integrating Community - Centered , Ecosystem - Based Approaches into Forestry , Agriculture and Tourism Sectors ” The project aims for establishing a holistic landscape approach to incorporate biodiversity conservation into planning and implementation in forestry , agriculture and tourism sectors in the MalwathuOya basin of Northern and North Western provinces of Sri Lanka The Secretary of MOE invites eligible and qualified Experts to indicate their interests to provide the services on the above project and interested individual Experts are requested to provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services described in the given Terms of References ( TORs ) .

Ministry of Environment expected to engage a selected expert to carry out an in - depth study and mapping of all stakeholders ( government , CBOs , private sector , local NGOs and INGOs ) to find out interventions related to mainstreaming of biodiversity conservation and sustainable practices into forestry , agriculture and tourism sectors in three trail landscapes of MalwathuOya Basin of North - Western and Northern Provinces in Sri Lanka The Stakeholder mapping exercise is also expected to be provided information that can help to create a platform for long term joint landscape planning and replications to up scaling of the project objectives Contract eriod 4 months Required Profile : Knowledge / Expertise General Knowledge and understanding of the project related work and the stakeholders particularly in Northern
and North Western Provinces Ability to carry out in - depth study of all stakeholder and to find out the interventions related to relevant
sectors which are implemented in the project landscapes Solid understanding of the dynamics , issues and trends of associated ( biodiversity , agriculture , forestry and tourism ) and public finance , as well as issues of transparency and governance .
Familiarity with relevant government policies and structures Specific
Good understanding of integrating community - centered , ecosystem - based approaches into forestry , agriculture and tourism sectors in the Northern and North Western Provinces Ability to identify key civil society , government and private sector stakeholders that impact on mainstreaming of conservation and sustainable practices into land use planning and sectorial decision - making in forestry , agriculture and tourism sectors positively and negatively Clarify the stakeholders ` interests / goals / objectives and categorize them based on their interest To identify the gaps in policy and regulations that hindered the Managing Together concept Map where the different stakeholders ` activities are located geographically and if possible ; and include the current and next 4 years planned or approved budget allocations Map government departments , including district and divisional , and plans and how their contribution and their need .

A relevant Masters degree More than 10 Years of working Experience in a similar work Experience of working in multi - cultural environment Fluency in written and spoken English and Sinhala language ( proficiency in Tamil is an added advantage )
