Minimum of three (3) years designing digital experiences
An understanding of ux principles
A foundation in typography, layout, graphic design and art direction
Intimate knowledge of your tools is a given - photoshop, illustrator, xd, sketch, etc.
A love for photography and videography
An understanding of responsive design and the ramifications of designing across devices
An understanding of how and when to use prototyping tools
Solid understanding of digital production workflows, from wireframing and stylistic conception to preparation and markup of design files to ensure easy and clear translation of the design into responsive layouts.
Demonstrated experience and skill using strategic rationale to present creative deliverables to internal teams and to clients.
Fundamental understanding of technology and the implications of modern programming languages - basically, the ability to collaborate closely with developers
Knowledge of 3d and motion graphics is a plus but is not required.
Solid understanding of digital production workflows.
Associate degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred – preferably in visual communications, graphic design or equivalent with web design, multimedia design and/or programming coursework; portfolio school also applicable.

The position of web designer at miles includes equal parts storytelling and ui design, with shared responsibility for uxThe position requires you to have an understanding of strategy, know how to work in collaboration with content teams to evolve that into a creative story, tell that story within an intuitive user experience, and design that user experience in a way that will be meaningful to travelersIn a complex travel planning environment, we see ourselves as the ambassador to the visitor; delivering the right blend of what the destination (or other travel-related business) wants to show the world, and what the traveler needs to knowYour role will include responsibility for designing and delivering highly functional, beautiful web platforms from concept to launch, as well as the evolution of and iteration of existing web platforms.
Essential duties:
Participate in the client discovery phase
Lead and clearly articulate your design decisions throughout a project
Collaborate and effectively communicate with our team of creatives, strategists, writers, producers, developers and clients
Create original design concepts
Wireframe
Create visual prototypes
Present design deliverables in internal and client-facing environments
Develop style guides
Production design & development prep
Asset creation and graphic design
Collect and/or manage the development of assets for general use and/or for specific project needs.
Maintain job folders and documentation in keeping with company-wide standards.
Mentor and collaborate with other designers, creatives, developers, content strategists and producers to socialize practices that enable miles to consistently produce remarkable digital experiences.
