About the role:
Engineer will be responsible for understanding the current landscape of it infrastructure (network, server, storage, cloud infrastructure & migrations), identify the risks and driving/performing remediation to those environmentsResponsible for the implementation of changes to the information technology infrastructure within established processesThis level works on low to medium complexity infrastructure problems, applies technology to meet specific needs, and focuses on tasks with some complexityMaintain and assess the technology infrastructure to include platform, development, and explore options for moving to the cloudOversee the process and procedures and strategies to migrate and maintain the company`s on prem and emerging cloud computing environment.
What you will do:
Serve as subject matter expert (sme) and provides direction for the managed service provider (msp) responsible for the deployment and ongoing support of related services.
Design, plan, manage, maintain, and support, and any other technological duties associated with the n prem and cloud computing environment.
Monitor the consumption of resources, request fulfillment turnaround, application performance, and
Systems security posture and evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software as needed.
Creating functional design specifications, reference architectures, and other technical specifications
Create and validate the appropriate working documents that describe systems, integrations, data relationships, and other key concepts.
Understand and identify cloud-native support model that can be operationalized with an initial small team and scaled up based on demand.
Work cross-functionally with multiple teams to ensure service provider meets slas, kri, and kpi metrics.
Provide consultation and direct technical support in life cycle planning, problem management, integration for infrastructure components.
Responsible for participating in audit, disaster recovery, and implementing remediation plans for findings.
Accountable for all incidents in on prem infrastructure domain and work with msp resources to provide data and root cause with all possible corrective actions for improvement
What you will need:
Bachelor`s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, a related field, or
Equivalent education and work experience.
A plus can include, but not required for certification in windows server hybrid administrator, microsoft azure administrator, aws, certified network+, ccna (cisco certified network associate, ccnp (certified network professional)
At least 5 years of experience leading in mid-size to large enterprise technology services with experience in: network, server, storage, telecom, and emerging cloud computing.
Deep understanding and experience leading infrastructure environments
Prior financial industry and/or regulatory experience preferred.
Network & telecom- knowledge and hands on support of cisco/networks, palo alto/firewalls, firemon, panorama, cisco security manager, wireless networks
Server & storage - knowledge and hands on support of microsoft azure, pki, windows server administration, unix, vmware, hyper-v, patching, sccm/mecm, m365, active directory, virtual server etcBackup solutions to include san storage, veeam, commvault,
Cloud computing - migration process, os build, provisioning
Strong collaborative skills and mindset, with ability to work cross-functionally.
Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation with the ability to convey information to it and non-it audiences.
