General: the junior application developer will focus on creating and supporting internal applications to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of all msc business systemsThe junior application developer will utilize a variety of tools to create, modify and test custom business applications while supporting the evolution of msc`s custom applicationsResponsibilities and duties:
Contributes to the development, creation, installation, and maintenance of custom-built computer applications.
Contributes to the development of front-end applications, back-end applications, and databases that make up the foundational structure applications.
Develops applications using microsoft software development tools and other application development software.
Writes programs according to specifications, which may be provided by software engineers, systems analysts, or other business stakeholders.
Confers with supervisor and representatives of departments concerned with program to resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls.
Assists users by suggesting improvements to current applications, developing and implementing those improvements while staying focused on increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of all msc staff.
Meets with internal stakeholders to determine end-user needs for custom-built applications.
Develops and maintains documentation and user manuals for custom built applications.
Ability to provide system and user support as needed (evenings and/or weekends on occasion) to do system upgrades, patches, and normal maintenance.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: education: bachelor’s degree in computer science or related work experienceExperience/knowledge/skills/physical requirements:
1-3 years of application development experience in a microsoft windows server environment using ms visual studio.net development tools and other tools as needed.
Some experience with hardware and software systems configuration, an understanding of computer networking.
Adaptable with the ability to work well under pressure and changing priorities.
Dependable, with a personal commitment to quality and professionalism at all times.
A good communicator who works effectively on teams and independently, while maintaining a focus on organizational goals.
Pay no less than $60,000 salary
