Position summary – individual contributor role
The purpose of the director, business development is to support the vp, generic injectables with the task of developing key supplier relationships and bridging the gap between supplier and customers across all classes of tradeThe role will be a dedicated focus on generic injectables to develop new channels into the $10b+ market and solve for the needs of mckesson customers for competitive prices and stable supply.
Develop and execute injectable growth strategy including identification, prioritization and execution of sales, sourcing and operational opportunities and partnerships.
Network with mckesson stakeholders who possess existing relationships.
Attend key supplier, association and segment tradeshows and events.
Promote and influence based on mckesson’s enterprise injectables vision.
Product / portfolio development
Perform thorough assessment of gx injectables market landscape and monitor developments to identify attractive opportunities.
Collaborate with mckesson global sourcing to develop and align on the injectables portfolio.
Partner with mckesson injectables commercial and field sales team to engage customers to validate identified target injectables.
Enterprise stakeholder management
Partner with internal stakeholders, such as: global sourcing, mckesson bus, analytics, legal, commercial team, and the broader generics program team for alignment on strategy and transparency.
Establish innovative and collaborative business relationships across injectable supply chain, project management and cross-functional leadership to ensure achievement of established goals.
New product launch and pipeline management
Lead and communicate new product launches, either by private label or brand to generic conversions, to accelerate customer adoption.
Actively communicate mckesson’s pipeline of products and timeline to internal stakeholders which includes gx operations.
Identify and implement an industry best practice for new product launches.
Other duties as assigned
7+ years of professional experience in product management, pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or business development
Proven ability to develop relationships at all levels with internal and external stakeholders, specifically in a matrix environment
Demonstrated consistent ability to develop strategic and tactical plans with a proven track record to lead strategic initiatives and manage projects with minimal supervision
Proven success in business development, preferably as it relates to commercialization of generic pharmaceuticals
Strong working knowledge of the supplier/manufacturing landscape; preferably generic injectables
Foundational knowledge of the supply chain process
Exceptional communication and presentation skills
4-year degree required
