Job summary: the robot electrical commissioning and controls engineer will be responsible for the design and commissioning of conveyor and sortation systemsThis position is focused on retrofitting and modifying equipment from design through commissioning for site-based conveyor controlsThe robot electrical commissioning and design engineer will work with other members of the mhs lps team to ensure drawings and software are completed as required to support the project scope and scheduleEssential functions:
Understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings for industrial control systems and write/implement machine code, integrate subsystems, and supervise/lead all controls engineering efforts
Ability to create and modify drawings for material ordering and installation.
Strong understanding of variable frequency drives, servo drives, programmable logic controllers and industrial networks
Familiarity with “human machine interface” (hmi) using commercially available products such as wonderware, ignition or rsview
Ability to generate plc and hmi programs to satisfy current design and customer specifications.
Work with mhs employees, customer representatives and third-party vendors to ensure all aspects of a project are considered during both the design and commissioning phases
Ability to commission complex automated systems, provide engineering support, and assist in system acceptance testing
Ability to schedule, manage, and execute system enhancement and/or equipment retrofits
Ability to communicate and collaborate with mhs team members and project managers to ensure all aspects of project goals are achieved
Individual must be self-motivated, detailed oriented and results focused
Willingness to travel and support our 24/7 remote support team
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology) or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience within an industrial controls environment which includes plc programming, i/o, communication networks and ac, dc, single / three-phase
Familiarity with autocad or other autodesk software to create electrical drawings and schematics
Experience with delta 5-axis robots and 6-axis robots
Experience with schneider controls and hardware a plus
Experience with rockwell automation software
Experience with allen-bradley rs logix plc software
Experience with networked vfds (ethernet, devicenet) a plus
Experience with microsoft office applications, windows operating systems, and outlook
