Full job description
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic and ability to work in a collaborative fast-moving dynamic team environmentResponsible for all system administration duties associated with the enterprise patch management platformPerforms patch management and software distributions to enterprise endpoints including servers, workstations, and other iot devices.
Position location: bismarck, nd or boise, id preferred but may consider a remote location in the united states where mdu resources is currently authorized to do business.
All levels require knowledge of systems administration, programming, and networking at a level normally acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in computer science, information technology (it) or related field.
Additional requirements for level i/ii/engineer include:
AdminI: two years’ experience providing technical support for the hardware, operating system software, security systems and file structures for an it infrastructure
AdminIi: four years’ experience providing technical support for the hardware, operating system software, security systems and file structures for an it infrastructure
Engineer: six years’ experience providing technical support for the hardware, operating system software, security systems and file structures for an it infrastructure
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Operating system and application patch management. Automated application packaging and distribution. Test and stage new releases of products to ensure compatibility to minimize user impact. Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed. Performs systems administration, configuration, and testing tasks related to patch management for both windows client/servers as well as non-windows endpoints. Troubleshoot failures or performance issues relating to post patch activity. System administration of company patch management platform including overall maintenance and upgrades. Develop and implement process improvement techniques to ensure patch success throughout the organization. Reports on monthly patch deployment key performance indicators (kpis).
Preference given for experience in the following areas:
Experience with scripting using vbscript, powershell, or other scripting languages to facilitate task automation. Experience in systems vulnerability management and hardening to mitigate common vulnerability and exposures (cve) using server configuration changes, registry edits, and/or command line changes. Experience patching linux servers using patching tools (i.eRedhat satellite server, ansible, etc.). Experience with installing patches and software distribution. Previous experience with directly installing, configuring, operating, administering, and maintaining recent versions of ivanti, wsus, or sccm.
Ability to work independently to meet goals and objectives with minimal supervision.
