ASSISTANT MANAGER – ENTERPRISE-WIDE RISK MANAGEMENT

Be a part of best-in-class Risk and Control function that finds creative solutions to the organizational challenges. We spearhead the integration of enterprise-wide risk management activity done in silos and formalize “Risk Management” as an integrated process to optimize outcomes and protect MAS’ value.  Insights provided to our stakeholders across the group help them dynamically manage risks, which ultimately improves business performance and builds resilience and competitive advantage. We also provide assurance to the Board and the senior leadership team on the adequacy and effectiveness of the organization’s internal control systems, risk management processes and drive implementation of good governance practices. Our activities and approaches are aligned to global best practices.

We leverage heavily on data analytics, real-time dynamic visualization platforms, advance analytical techniques (AI and machine learning), and state-of-the-art data platforms to generate deeper insights to enhance decision making and foster a data-driven decision culture within MAS.

As the chosen candidate you will assist in guiding the business leaders (Group Heads and SBU Leadership) and ‘Risk Champions’ to adopt the Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework of the group whilst ensuring risk mitigation activities are proactively managed to strengthen the Group’s performance and minimize surprises.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with the relevant business leaders/stakeholders in the identification an evaluation of strategic risks as well as identification and escalation of emerging risks
• Ensure risk mitigation activities are monitored and tracked to plan
• Identification of key risk indicators (KRIs) to proactively manage risks
• Based on risk assessment landscape provide insights to the senior leadership team to influence behavior and ultimately inspire change.
• Identify, plan and execute special projects and strategic risk initiatives across the enterprise

Qualifications and Experience:

• A Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Economics/Finance/Financial Mathematics and Statistics or comparable professional education.
• Relevant qualifications in the field of risk management will be an added advantage.
• 05+ years working experience in enterprise risk management, management consulting, finance, strategic planning or related fields.
• Proven project management experience – preferably highly organized, ensuring timely completion of project deliverables for all involved while requiring minimal guidance and oversight.
• Demonstrated strong communication skills, partnering with business leaders and demonstrated ability to influence risk owners and inspire change.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manoeuvre in consistently changing environment.
