The role
This is an exciting roleThe lead operations engineer will apply advanced engineering and network principles, theories, concepts and technologies to solve unusually complex problems and issues at lumenThe lead operations engineer: working within service delivery, will automate existing manual tasks by interacting with various systems, databases (oracle, sql server, postgresql, mongo, mysql) and apis to complete the task or tasks that will streamline workflows, drive efficiencies, and generate operational savingsThe lead operations engineer will be responsible for developing complex automation solutions using scripting and web-based technologies including python, .net, and other technologies and automation methods in support of the various enterprise automation initiatives.
Partners with end users as well as team members in design, development, testing and maintenance of automation projects across the organizationCritical thinking and analysis of the problem and request is paramount to this roleIdeation and solution engineering is a mustCandidate utilizes automation best practices and is compliant with documented standards to ensure automations meet business requirements and meets stated targets for efficiencyMust be able to develop multiple automation projects and ensure delivery within the given timelineWill be called upon to coach, mentor, and demo to end users’ solution design and best practices.
The main responsibilities
Leads the development, evaluation and implementation of new and innovative principles, processes, and applications.
Work with service delivery leaders on high value automation opportunities to consult, design, develop, and/or support solutions using scripting, and web technologies including angular and django.
Troubleshoot root cause and fix automation exceptions reducing fallout from automation process.
Work with it and application owners and vendors on function support issues and roadmaps and resolves difficult interoperability problems to obtain operation across all platforms.
Understanding of workflow-based logic and ability to both understand a current state of the business process from a workflow diagram and conceptualize future state of the same in an automated solution.
Exercises considerable latitude in decision-making under limited consultative direction toward predetermined long-range targets.
Analyzes complex local and wide area network systems and/or customer network environment, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites, and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges and other devices.
Acts as primary consultant to leadership detailing the technical requirements and specifications necessary to obtain solutions.
Configures systems to user environments.
Supports acquisition and implementation of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services.
Regarded as subject matter expert in applied research, development, and design of new products.

May act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership for lower level employees.
Excludes those with full supervisory responsibilities.
Requires limited direction and guidance with most tasks.
What we look for in a candidate
Minimum:
Bachelor`s degree in mis, cs, or ce with 8+ years of experience.
5+ years of experience developing with the following: python, sql, html, css web frameworks, javascript
Solid interpersonal skills & a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team
Must maintain the ability to self-manage assigned job role responsibilities to achieve desired performance results.
Candidate must possess solid written & verbal communication skillsDemonstrates prior experience interacting with customers.
Candidate demonstrates experience in the use of personal computers, including microsoft word, excel, and outlook
Proficiency with presentations to technical and non-technical audiences; must be able to translate technical terms and concepts to non-technical entities.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a rapidly changing work environment.
Preferred:
Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience
Telecom/technology experience
Github, microsoft dataverse, angular and django frameworks
