As an integral part of the lumen strategic alliance organization, the alliance business dev mgr will be the bridge between our external alliance sales organizations and the lumen sales teamsIn this highly strategic role, the alliance bus dev mgr will have the opportunity to ensure our alliances partner effectively with lumen to deliver on our joint business goalsThe bus dev mgr closes the loop between the two organizations and insures more deals closeThe bus dev mgr will develop and execute sales training for the alliance and lumen sales teams to cement the lumen story within our key alliance organizationsThe alliance bus dev mgr is the one who knows the alliance and knows the lumen sellersThey make the deals happen for both sidesThis is not a sales jobThis is not a commission role.
The main responsibilities
Principal duties and responsibilities (essential functions):
Identify new opportunities together with the sales teams in select industries and use cases.
Provide day-to-day sales support to the alliance manager and sales teams to register opportunities, manage the pipeline and move opportunities to closure.
Work with product management to identify sales plays by alliance.
Build out support for gtmInclude key points around engaging sales teams for success in the lumen strategic alliance business plans.
Reporting on the wins for the alliance activityThis role will be a key contributor to the reporting around alliance opportunity management and revenue.
Frequent communication with the other lumen and alliance stakeholders to plan new sales programs and initiatives as well as remove blockers to success.
Participate in weekly meetings and monthly business reviews.
Support on-going sales and product training for the lumen and alliance sales teams.
Top 3 daily responsibilities:
1Drive revenues to meet and exceed targets by supporting sales.
2Regularly review opportunity pipeline with the alliance manager and sales teams as well as alliance partners.
3Coach the sales teams to help progress opportunities through the sales cycle, from initial qualification to closeThe bus dev mgr is the person who best knows the alliance sales organization and how to maneuver for success there.
What we look for in a candidate
Education – bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
4+ years of professional b3b (b2b) sales or business development experience working closely with sales organization
World class communication skills that include building rapport, strong written communication and active listening especially across sales organizations.
Experience with sales readiness and educating sellers a big plus.
If you have experience working for or with, especially selling to, the major cloud providers and/or significant technology companies, you will be an ideal candidate.
