Logistically, incIs looking for a jrTo mid-level integration engineer to join a high-performing agile team to develop and support third-party saas, and customer integrations, in the exciting logistics and transportation industryThis person will also learn the inner workings of our flagship product, logistically tms, and provide support engineering duties when necessary.

This engineer will be responsible for all integration projectsThis will include the development, support, and maintenance of third-party integrations with less-than-truckload (ltl) trucking companies, logistics software and service providers, accounting software, and other selected services that our customers need to be integratedOn the customer side, integrations will include building middleware solutions to share data between logistically tms and our customers’ erp systems, warehouse management systems, accounting systems, and anything else requiredThese integrations are often performed using apis, but may also include writing and reading from csv files.
In addition to integrations, this person will also help cover the help desk and be the acting support engineer when necessarySupport engineering duties include diagnosing and fixing various issues in the softwareUpgrades and enhancements to existing features may also be required at times.
Logistically tms runs in a docker container with python and postgresql on the backendThe application is hosted on aws in a highly redundant and scalable virtual environmentThe front-end uses angular js for legacy features and elm for most things developed in the last 3+ yearsExperience in python or postgresql is not required to be effective here, but the ideal candidate must be a fast learner and understand the fundamentals of dynamic languages and how they differ from compiled languages like java or c#.

Experience in the logistics industry is a bonus
A solid understanding of oop and sql is a must
Excellent interpersonal skills, as this position will attend meetings with clients and communicate directly with c-level executives from corporations of all sizes
Ability to transform api documentation into working code
Ability to follow standards
Understanding of tdd and how to write testable code
Basic web development is a plus
Integrate and maintain vendor api’s, which will be restful services or soap
Develop, support, and maintain middleware programs for customer integrations
Develop, support, and maintain the logistically tms open api, adding features where necessary
Develop, support, and maintain edi integrations with customers and various trading partnersEdi is a very small part of the integration work at logisticallyThe existing framework and integrations with our edi vendor require little maintenance, but some new customers will need minor tweaks to the edi data that is transmitted.
Answer questions and provide help to users and customers through the logistically help desk.
Resolve application issues reported by customers.
