Full job description
Reporting to the vp & srDirector, technology – global distribution & crm platforms, this role will help lead the formation of the new global distribution, crm, and marketing platforms team, through partnering with stakeholders, partners, and product, technology, and experience peers, to define the platform's vision, mission, and strategy.
Over time, the responsibilities of this role will evolve, as the global platform matures from a defining/forming phase, to a delivery/performing phaseThe focus will shift towards leading delivery for a set of digital products and experiences within the global platformThe role will be key in orchestrating that transition while creating and maintaining harmony with a broad group of stakeholders, and setting the culture for the team.
About the role:
In conjunction with product owners and engineering managers, develops the business and/or technology vision, strategies, critical success factors and operating plans for application, unit or platform. Hires and manages lower level managers and may hire and manage individual contributors. Determines and manages resource strategy and plan (fte, skills needed, depth of experience, internal and external staffing mix) consistent with the budget and needs of the department. Initiates and fosters collaborative partnerships with current and potential clients, technology and business managers, vendors and technology executives; develops relationships that promote trust and increase efficiency and effectiveness. Balances individual client needs with business priorities assuring alignment with the business and product vision, strategies and objectives. Established financial plan for the department and manages to plan ensuring that key goals are met by managers in their department. Coaches and counsels team members, especially managers regarding leadership techniques in an agile environmentDeals effectively with performance issues in a timely manner. Coordinates with vendors to ensure talent management, on-boarding and transition are performed in a consistent manner.
Knowledge of technology concepts, strategies and methodologies typically acquired through a bachelor`s or master`s degree in technical or business discipline and more than 10 years experience in a practice relevant domain including delivering software solutions in an agile environment5 years in a leadership role preferred. In-depth knowledge of it concepts, strategies and methodologies and their application to business opportunities. In-depth knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies. Ability to promote a team environment consisting of several teams. Highly developed negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills demonstrated through effective interactions with cross-functional stakeholders. Highly developed oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.
