The senior ux-ui designer is responsible for leading the enhancement of the overall user experience for learning without tears (lwt) product offerings, customer facing applications, and websiteYou will deliver successful, fun, and engaging designs to elevate current and future offerings and sites, while staying true to the brand.
What you`ll be doing:
Provide creative, thoughtful, and innovative solutions to bring new ideas and concepts to life through experience and design
Display a deep understanding of expectations and accessibility requirements of the education industry as well as lwt`s unique product propositions and visual objectives
Collaborate and communicate across departments and with leadership to understand individual viewpoints and ensure company vision is captured in the product solution
Contribute to lwt`s strategy in the development of product and website experiences and develop designs in alignment with lwt`s brand and objectives
Lead collaborative ux discovery sessions with the project team and stakeholders to create a shared vision and understanding of the product or project requirements
Define and document the information architecture needed to support development projects, including a variety of ux deliverables such as user personas, user journeys, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes, as well as user interaction specifications and style guides
Lead design iterations for products and applications to include a strong user experience framework, establish and monitor design standards across the product and meet accessibility requirements of the education industry
Create flexible, responsive end to end designs for multiple browsers, screen sizes, platforms, and devices, from concept to project completion or as needed to enhance an existing product
Responsible for ensuring top quality, positive user experience on lwt website, including accessibility, brand representation, and usability
Recommend and design solutions for website and webstore ux issues that have already been identified, and as they arise.
Collaborate on and execute user testing; incorporate customer/user feedback and best practices into the design to iterate, evolve, improve, and enhance offerings and experiences
Collaborate with and mentor creative team members to foster growth of ux knowledge, as well as visual and interactive design skills
Your experience & qualifications:
B.aOr b.sIn product design, ux/ui design, interactive design, visual design, or a related focus or equivalent work experience
5+ years` experience in ux, ui, product design or related fields, designing for desktop and mobile experiences with demonstrated ability to lead the solution of a product area and connect to a broader product vision.
Experience designing accessible products for k-6 education industry and schools (teacher- and student-facing) is strongly preferred.
Experience in developing innovative and effective documentation (site maps, transaction flows, sketches, scenarios, navigation models, design patterns) for digital products
Initiative to recommend improvements, drive standards, and explore enhancements
Experience in concept creation, and development of interactive design (wireframes, mockups, graphics and layouts, prototyping).
A portfolio of work demonstrating a proven record of user-centric designs and overarching visual design skills; latest trends, color, and typography
Experience performing various methods of ux testing.
Ability to present ux and ui design direction to key stakeholders effectively and with confidence, take criticism, and implement solution-oriented changes
Must be comfortable in a cross-functional team driving ux / ui conversations and working with marketing, analytics, content, and development teams
Ability to think on the fly, find innovative and scalable ways to problem solve
Ability to adapt role to project needs whether that be leader, designer, implementer, or reviewer.
Experience in adobe creative cloud applications as well as figma, jira, confluence, miro, etc.
Knowledge of capabilities, best practices; working knowledge of html and css; understanding of drupal or a similar cms, as well as google analytics and site tools
Solid verbal, written, and diagrammatic communication skills
