Summary of position:
The director of online testing is the subject matter expert for the development of online tests, including remotely proctored assessments, including any lsat-related high stakes tests, for the assessments, products, and the education, assessments, and research boundariesThe director of online testing has decision-making responsibility for the appearance of assessment content and functionalities that relate to the test experienceFurthermore, the director of online testing has oversight of lsat writing and the online delivery of the formative assessments that lsac will produce.
The director of online testing has direct responsibility for monitoring the day-to-day delivery of remotely proctored lsat content, including working with the lsat test design team and the delivery platform team (“lawhub”) to ensure that each administration’s test design is faithfully translated into the product and test module data structures used to drive test delivery.
The director of online testing may have supervisory and/or project management responsibilities and is expected to contribute to new product and new service initiativesResponsibilities:
Commits to ensure the validity, reliability, and fairness of assessments produced by lsac
Works with office of test security to update remote proctoring rules for vendors and candidate as needed
Works with assessment publications, data and qc, and lawhub groups to ensure that production test content transferred to lawhub systems faithfully reproduces the data in items at the item, section, and test levels
Works with accommodated testing and test operations teams as needed to plan delivery of any novel accommodations occurring during lsat and lsat writing administrations
Manages research and development projects related to online assessments
In conjunction with a cross-functional team, help design assessments to enhance legal education and legal practice
Provides thought leadership on use of ai and machine learning to advance learning and assessments
Participates in and applies test-related research
Contributes to development of innovative assessments
May participate in the design and implementation of online curriculum
Contributes to assessment development work as permitted by other responsibilities
May participate in managing item banks for innovative assessments
Ph.dOr doctoral-level work is preferredTeaching experience at the college level is desirable.
Approximately five years experience in test development or educational measurement, with significant contributions and responsibilities beyond item writing, reviewing or test construction
Knowledge of ai/machine learning as utilized in online education and online assessments
A well-developed ability to think critically, analytically, and logically
Precise and fluent use of english, and excellent oral and written communication skills
A demonstrated ability to work independently and to plan, organize, and prioritize diverse activities
Must be self-motivated, flexible, and able to maintain schedules and meet deadlines
Must have well-developed interpersonal skills to work effectively with contractors and staff
Must exercise discretion in handling secure, confidential, and sensitive materials
An ability to effectively use basic word processing and database programs is necessary
Must understand and be able to apply basic test-related statistics, including irt
