As a full-time interactive front-end developer, you will be responsible for building browser-based charts, interactives, and scrolling experiences for websites and digital storiesYou should be able to take design files (we’re working in figma these days) and turn them into high-quality, accessible, and clean interactive experiences in html/css/js.

We’re a small development team looking to expandYou’ll spend most of your time building the bulk of a site on your own alongside the design team or collaborating with us on different parts of a projectWe work together as a team to make plans for development, share knowledge of techniques, solve problems, and share ideasIf you’re looking to improve your skills or learn new things, we help mentor and guide you.
Responsibilities:
Build interactive charts, data visualizations, and scrolling experiences, for example:
D3, chart.js, or amcharts charts and graphs that are responsive, interactive (tooltips, zoom/pan, animated, etc), and accessible, e.gHttps://www.goldmansachs.com/insights/pages/infographics/carbonomics/
Scrollytelling experiences using gsap scrolltrigger, intersectionobserver, and locomotive scroll, e.gHttps://cleancurrentscoalition.org/

Animate interfaces with css and javascript
Use html, css, and js to create user-friendly interactives and web pages
Take figma design files into working responsive websites
Optimize code for maximum pagespeed performance
Think proactively about building accessible pages and interactives, following best-practice accessibility guidelines and making recommendations to designers
Collaborate with other developers and web designers to improve usability
Get feedback from stakeholders and fix website issues
Help back-end developers with integration and troubleshooting
Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies
Communicate with the rest of the team throughout the development process
Drive your own projects as a solo developer, or collaborate within a team (we want you to drive projects forward on your own sometimes, but we’re always ready to help, answer questions, or pitch in)
Requirements:
Mapbox, leaflet, or google maps
React or vue.js
Strong javascript experience
D3.js
Js/css animation (e.gGsap)
Ability to handle basic data processing and formatting in csv and json
H and html, and responsive website development experience
A portfolio that includes some interactive/chart samples
Ability to pick up new libraries quickly from their documentation and code samples
Nice-to-haves:
Experience with other chart/visualization libraries
Locomotive scroll
Deck.gl
Minimal 3d modeling (blender, etc)
Wordpress backend knowledge (enough to load html/css/js templates as a custom theme, or edit the same)
Backend php experience
Api integration experience
Knowledge of server deployments/devops (ssh, ssl, dns, hosting, etc)
Ability to make light image edits and simple design decisions following established styles
