Kilinochchi Mental Health Society (KMHS) established in 2011 and working on providing counselling to clients and addressing the issue of domestic violence since the establishment of the Tharmaparum Rehabilitation Centre in 2014Also, KMHS trains and hires women to work in the Rehabilitation Centre in roles that are traditionally expected to be performed by menKMHS remains committed to the principles of gender equality in all its activities and looks to local women-led organizations for support and advice whenever possible. KMHS is hiring the position of Project Manager (Part-time) for the project of improving gender equality for women and girls in Sri Lanka. Location: Northern & Eastern (KMHS expects to hire a person who currently living in Northern/ North Western/Eastern province and expected to travel four districts- Kilinochchi, Mannar, Puttalam & Batticaloa) Location: Duration - One year Duration Contract Duration: 15th of March 2021 to 14th of March 2022 (Approximately 24 hours a week) Contract Duration: Objective: Support to KMHS to manage the project on improving gender equality for women and girls in Northern, North Western and Eastern Provinces of Sri Lanka. This project focus is to address the high prevalence of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and the disenfranchisement of women and girls in all three provinces. Roles and responsibilities: Play a management role at KMHS to implement the project. • Play a management role at KMHS to implement the project. • Coordination with IMHO-Canada (International Medical Health Organisation-Canada) and with other local partner organisations to implement the project. • Coordination with IMHO-Canada and other partners and develop an implementation plan. • Coordination with the other stakeholders including relevant government departments, CSOs (Civil Society Organisations) and networks for the effective implementation of the project. • Prepare the project documents (where required): Periodical, annual and final reports with the consolidation of all project partner information. • Oversee the project staff of KMHS for effective implementation. Required qualifications and skills: • Undergraduate degree or higher in social science/sociology or any other relevant field • At-least 5-7 years experience in the areas of Gender Equality • Good field experience and knowledge of Womens Rights, Human Rights, and civil society work • Good experience in coordination and implementation of donor-funded projects • Good knowledge and experience in Project Cycle Management and Result Based Management. • Good verbal and written command in English and Tamil languages. • Ability to manage both local languages would an added advantage. • Good reporting skills and experience in budget management. • Good negotiation skills, teamwork, problem-solving, analytical, creative and innovative, trustworthily and responsible.
