Summary
The managed services senior systems engineer should have the proven ability to work either independently or in a team to achieve resultsShould have the ability to quickly analyze problems and to work cooperatively with clients and other jenzabar associates to determine the problem, verify potential solutions, and to solve the problem in a professional, courteous, and accurate manner with enough level of ongoing communication and follow-upThe senior systems engineer will work with jenzabar`s managed services, tech consulting, product development, and support teams to manage systems/servers/databases for jenzabar solutionsIn this position, the senior systems engineer will be able to blend their analytical, technical, and communications skills to provide responsive and accurate solutions to managed services customers.
Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing software/hardware projects and initiatives
Maintain process documentation, workflow, and architectural diagrams
Identify opportunities that can improve the efficiency of business processes within managed services and client operations
Design, build, and manage infrastructure-as-code
Create and maintain automation for new and existing services
Assist system engineer i, and ii with issues they report before escalating
Work cooperatively with managed services staff members, clients, and other teams/departments within jenzabar to determine problems/solutions in delivery of managed services to customers
Complete other duties as assigned by the managed services manager or the designated project manager
Qualifications
10+ years of it experience with a record of progressive career growth
5+ years in a devops role
Proficiency in powershell, groovy, bash or other scripting languages; and an aptitude for learning new languages
Experience developing integrations with rest apis
Experience with source control (git, svn)
Experience with containerization (ecs, kubernetes (eks/gke), or tanzu)
Experience with automation tools (ansible, chef, puppet, terraform, etc.)
Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures
Takes responsibility for and shows initiative in learning how to use/manage systems more effectively
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment with other engineers, project managers, etc.
Preferred skills
Advanced knowledge of networking
Experience with vmware vsphere/vcenter administration
Experience with logicmonitor
Experience with atlassian products
Experience with privileged access management (cyberark, thycotic, etc.)
