Full job description
As an e ngineering systems administrator, you will maintain engineering systems with the following objectives: 1) provide exceptional customer service to the jr employee population, 2) uphold corporate policies, procedures, standards, 3) enhance the quality of it products and services by analyzing data to make informed business recommendations, and 4) find technological solutions to business needs.
What you’ll do:
Develop and maintain positive relationships with all jr employees, contractors, customers, vendors, etc.
Utilizing various programming and scripting languages to support management and automation of routine tasks
Monitor adherence to jr and industry standards and procedures
Troubleshoot user reported software bugsTriage and escalate reproducible bug for remediation.
Proficient in common virtualization techniques and processes
Engineering infrastructures across the enterprise
Work alongside other it team members to support recommendations for infrastructure improvements related to engineering systems and applications
Ability to logically approach and solve a wide variety of user and system level problems within engineering systems and applications.
Ability to create technical documentation.
Good organizational skills and the ability to work on more than one project at a time with an attention to detail.
Ability to work independently or in a team environmentA willing attitude and aptitude to learn new things in a constantly changing environment.
Proficiency with windows operating systems and ms office suite
Ability to rapidly assimilate new and emerging technologies.
Maintain an indepth knowledge of product development processes, engineering design and development processes and tools as well as it processes and environment system and configuration management.
Support performance monitoring through the development of a reliable and consistent way to monitor system performance and provide alerts when performance falls outside the agreed upon parameters.
Support the development of the overall system infrastructure design through the creation of a visual representation of the required engineering systems architecture.
Ensure defined rpo/rto for engineering systems are tested and met on a regular basis.
Maintain system documentation within cmdb
Assist in the hardware selection of client and server infrastructure.
On-call for system outages/malfunctions and routine maintenance and patching

What you’ll bring:
5+ years working as an engineering systems administrator or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or information technology
Skills you’ll have:
Experience with the following: hyper-v, veeam, sql, dynatrace/psm, root cause analysis and itil problem management process
Knowledge of windchill architecture and best practices
Advance server management methodologies
