The internal communications lead is an integrated strategic thinker who develops and manages internal communication programs, initiatives, and campaigns to elevate and protect the reputation of j.sHeld and help position the firm as a leader in the marketplaceOur department is a dynamic team of strategic marketing and creative professionals operating as the company`s internal agency, serving clients throughout the organization.

In this role, the individual will be responsible for streamlining internal and corporate communications, and contribute to a wide range of strategic initiatives aimed at successfully achieving our business goalsThis lead will work with stakeholders and key business partners on various initiatives, including strategic communication plans and execution through multi-modal channels, the management or implementation of necessary communication platforms, and continued centralization of communication to support knowledge-sharing and enhanced cross-function team building.
The internal communications lead will:
Support the development and execution of internal communication strategies with the aim of keeping all employees engaged and informed
Assemble and manage central calendars/programs to streamline internal corporate comm efforts
Identify areas of opportunity and contribute solutions to internal comm challenges
Support cross-channel content development & brand messaging that reflects corporate strategies
Assist in developing and executing public relations and communications programs to strategically position j.sHeld and elevate the brand
Help position the firm, senior leadership, and other industry leaders as thought leaders on specific topics
Interact and coordinate with internal teams at disparate office locations to maintain continuity of information
Enhance and maintain relationships with key media contacts to help promote j.sHeld`s experts, programs, and accomplishments
Help prepare leaders with media coaching to represent the firm externally on brand
Assist with general company news announcements, writing key messages, supporting documents (news releases, faqs, talking points, copy concepts, etc.), and news articles
What this role needs:
8+ years of dynamic experience in professional communication, public relations, organizational communication, marketing, training or related communication field
Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, or marketing
Emphasis on specialized knowledge of public relations, media relations, and issues management
Proactive professional who has ability to build rapport with business partners and colleagues, provide counsel, and develop productive working relationships at all levels
Versatility to learn about and work with a variety of business areas and topics
Demonstrate exceptional presentation, writing, interpersonal, and analytical skills
Ability to listen to, engage, and influence business partners throughout the company; synthesize and relate complex information; analyze problems and opportunities; and develop and drive external communication strategies and tactics
Counsel experts in the appropriate use of communication strategies and tactics to inform and influence target audiences (e.g., clients, prospects, key influencers, financial representatives, employees, and other partners or stakeholders)
Solid experience using digital and social media as a lead element and experience in providing direction for content creation
Optimistic, self-motivated, and able to take initiative
