Ingersoll rand has an exciting opportunity for a business development manager to be a part of our growing industrial technologies & services businessThe chosen candidate would implement product strategies & programs, and create the value proposition for the elmo rietschle brand of vacuum productsElmo rietschle vacuum products include hook & claw, oil lube and dry rotary vane, radial turbine and screw technologies to support oem and distribution sales channelsStrategies should drive incremental growth and achieve profit objectives for this segment of the businessThe position requires continued knowledge development of market trends, current products, competitive products, markets and manufacturersThis position works closely with all areas of the business including; outside sales, operations and engineering in the specification, development and commercialization of vacuum products and programs.
Essential functions:
Business management: advance/grow market position by developing, and defining business relationshipsResearch and analyze industry events and market intelligenceCoordinate with product management to manage and optimize current discount structures to support strategic partnershipsManage oem partners through team collaboration and customer support expectations
Strategic: develops, recommends and implements strategic action plans for growth and profitabilityCreates long and short range strategic product and marketing plans that identify new market segments, growth opportunities and technologies.
Product: has strong product knowledge and understanding of how products are applied in their applicationUnderstand key advantages of products or programs and how these benefit the customerMaintains continuous surveillance, evaluation and files of competitive products including function, performance, pricing, and marketing techniques through interaction with sales, end users, and other sourcesCreate new product development business plans that support overall strategic goals.
Driving growth: identify opportunities and provide resources to product management for channel improvementDevelop business growth plans for our oem networkDevelop marketing collateral to support business development activities for publishing in trade journals or on websitesPresent market material to trade associations and distribution partnersIncrease brand presence through trade association meetings & conferences and establishing elmo rietschle as the market expertsDevelop growth strategies with product management utilizing new product development opportunities.
Training: develops value proposition for product line and creates and maintains training programs for customers and distribution partners.
Qualifications:
3+ years of oem sales, product management, marketing, or business management experienceExcellent communication and analytical skills needed, with an emphasis on attention to detail.
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or engineering (or international equivalent); mba preferred.
Proficient in microsoft excel, power point and office.
Strong communication skills, including presenting and public speaking.
Understands commercial aspect of interfacing with customers to deliver a solution to meet their needs.
Positions reports directly to global product manager for vacuum products.
