Job description
We are looking for a gis specialist that will help the division of geological survey with their gis needsThe candidate will be needed to produce; maps, create and maintain sql server databases, create and maintain metadata, assist with developing and guiding staff.
Job duties
The desired candidate will perform the following duties:
Create and revise sql server databases and database schemas(e.g., standard schema implementation, database migration, digitization of division artifacts)
The position will be writing code and creating models with gis to do geoprocessing tasks.
Represent geo survey in it related procurementsHas enough familiarity with geo survey data and projects to facilitate procurements.
Assist with developing and guiding staff with complex geoprocessing techniques to save time or leverage data in new ways (e.g., revise statewide mapping projects)
Complete geology specific gis/technology training to develop expertise.
Create and manage metadata and coordinate with geologic records center group to intelligently archive data and package it for delivery.
Create supplementary map or figure as needed.
Operates gis software (e.g., arcgis desktop software) to assist in viewing, assessing and editing data sets for geo survey.
Assists geo survey staff with data entry & data preparation; ensures gis compliance with applicable standards for data capture, metadata, data manipulations & output; integrates historical maps with other spatial information; assists with quality assurance & quality control procedures integrated with the production & maintenance of gis data; works on special geo survey project assignments as directed by manager.

5 years creating/maintaining microsoft sql server database version 2012-2016
5 years arcgis online experience
5 years arcgis (arcpro and arcmap) desktop software (including model builder)
2 years python (arcpy)
