Applications engineer
Inspire is focused on delivering best in class controlled environmental systems for indoor horticulture, with a particular focus on the cannabis cropOur clients are plant medicine and food systems pioneers who team up with inspire to optimize their indoor environments with plant-centric hvacd products and data-driven cloud servicesThese products and services play a significant role in maximizing plant biomass and phenotypic expression to enhance financial performance and mitigate risk for our partners.
The applications engineer function at inspire is technical and cross-functional team member focused on supporting high level engineering and sales efforts from initial contact all the way through post sales and service support.
Key role functions:
Responsible for optimizing and validating hvacd equipment selections based on size, configuration, and voltage by reviewing plans, specifications, estimates and proposals.
Responsible for managing and standardizing assigned product lines and streamlining documentation.
Responsible for evaluating cost savings and/or cost overruns.
Validates project scopes by reviewing plans and specs.
Responsible for preparing the correct equipment for order entry.
Maintains job-related inventory by recording quantities required.
Controls costs by negotiating equipment prices with vendors.
Verifies equipment pricing and updates coordination worksheets.
Responsible for programming ddc controllers.
Responsible for implementing existing scada instances.
Works with control hardware partners to design and validate project wiring diagrams.
Documents work by maintaining files for each job.
Obtains and validates vendor submittals.
Generates and distributes final submittal.
Works directly with customers and sales team as a technical support resource.
Works with sales management to optimize equipment pricing.
Cfd modelling support to validate project planning.
Light project management coordinating startup and commissioning on projects.
Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required.

Fluent with technologyHas a strong background with software tools such as microsoft office and is excited to learn new toolsSalesforce experience is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
Education and/or experience:
Experience programming distech controllers a requirement
Experience implementing ignition scada software a plus
Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, construction or engineering technology, or other related areas; or two or more years of experience in the hvac industry performing project management or estimating roles; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
