Design, implement and execute advanced molecular dynamics simulations of relevant protein targets assigned in collaboration with experimental groups within the nant ecosystem
Use available commercial and free software and implement in-house solutions whenever reasonable
Draft and edit manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and press releases
Work with cross-functional teams to advice and direct efforts of experimental groups.
Assist in budget creation and identification of resource requirements.
As the subject matter expert in molecular dynamics, the individual will participate in determining the best modeling approach and planning of resource allocation for any computationally supported project
Perform all other duties as assigned
Education/experience requirements
Ph.dIn chemistry, physics or similar discipline with focus on molecular dynamics with 5-7 years of experience in academia or biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical industry preferred
Or an ms with 10-12 years of experience
Expert in molecular dynamics with deep understanding of the underlying theory
Prior molecular modeling experience and ability to design and implement the necessary software infrastructure, including supporting software, scripting and storage organization
Extensive experience with linux/unix operating system
Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to author manuscripts and give presentations
Proven ability to be highly productive in a fast paced work environment
Required competencies – knowledge, skills, abilities
Deep knowledge of the molecular dynamics software and techniques
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and present results of computer modeling
High level working knowledge of the linux/unix operating system environments
Self-motivated and efficient individual capable of effective remote work
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
