Illinois wesleyan university is seeking a creative web developer to join our dynamic communications teamThe ideal candidate will be a motivated individual who knows industry best practicesWe offer a commitment to work-life balance, plus an energetic team-oriented environment that we enjoy every dayThis is a full time, benefits eligible position; remote work will be consideredGenerous benefits include health, retirement, and tuition assistance.
Responsibilities will be to develop and maintain the infrastructure of the university website and related services, and will include responsibility for the architecture and function of the websiteSpecific duties will entail:
Maintain the website using html, css and javascript
Becoming proficient in the university’s content management system (omni cms), which utilizes xml/xsl
Work with communications and marketing creative teams, with primary emphasis on the iwu.edu website as a student recruitment and fundraising vehicle.
Ensure website responsiveness, up-to-date wcag compliance, and best practices for website security and seo performance.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education, experience and accomplishment.
Demonstrated experience and detailed working knowledge of html, css and javascript
Experience in a lamp stack environment is beneficial
Experience in a modern js framework, such as react, vue or svelte, is a plus
Effective analytical, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
