How you can make a difference with broad supervision from support engineering leadership this position works mssql packages, procedures and data objects to identify and correct data issues and identify system defectsThis position involves writing complex sql queries, scripts and stored procedures to support custom reporting requests, data integrity issues and process automation for enterprise system database applicationsResponsible for monitoring core process jobs and responding to issues outside normal scheduled business hours on a scheduled rotationThis position typically performs work in a corporate or field location and reports to a supervisor or manager of support engineering or platform supportThis position requires some cross-team and cross-functional collaboration.

Identify, analyze, and suggest solutions based on trends in data and information flow using their knowledge of the system architecture and processes
Communicate clearly, succinctly, and professionally with management, vendors in both verbal and written formsTake extreme ownership of tasks and projects and see that they are followed through to completion on time.
Responds to technical issues to provide support for escalated non–repetitive data issuesAnalyzes, identifies and resolves data issues by creating complex scripts to resolve data conditions and anomalies in an efficient and effective manner that is in accordance with established service level agreements (sla’s).
Essential on call job monitoring to remediate job failures, diagnose problems and provide fixesThis includes monitoring outside of normally scheduled hours on a rotational basis.
Maintains and performs operational back office processes that includes but is not limited to executing batch jobs and reports.
What you will need to be successful education: knowledge of business and technology as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in cs/engineering, information technology or a closely related field preferredEquivalent experience in industry may be given consideration.
Work experience or related experience: the ability and skill obtained through 3-6 years’ experience software support and development, with specific experience microsoft sql server.
Specialized knowledge, skills & abilities:
Mid-level sql (ms) skill set (advanced queries)
Experience with sql server
Demonstrates a growing understanding of the importance of systemic thinking(understanding the system information is flowing in, not just a subsection of it)
Mid-level problem solving and troubleshooting skills requiredAble to use standard debugging tools/approaches (e.gPostman, chrome dev tools)
Demonstrates cursory familiarity with agile development methodologies and best practices.
Growth mindset and willingness to pivot direction and learn new things.
Customer service focusPassion for helping to solve problems, not just answer questionsUnderstand the importance of a sense of urgency
Ability to prioritize/triage effectively and shift gears quickly as business needs require.
Ability to read/understand code written in at least one of the following: .net, c# vb (do not need to write the code, just understand it)
Advanced experience with microsoft office software (word, excel, powerpoint, visio, teams and outlook) is required.
Experience with database querying tools (mssms, toad) is required
Experience with text editing tools (such as ultra edit, notepad++, etc) is required.
