Duties and responsibilities
Manage and provide input to facility design and design of building retrofits
Develop scope of work for any project with input from cross functional partners and vendors
Ensure designs meets all code and safety requirements
Develop project plans, validate partners plans, and manage delivery, scope and budgets
Manage incentive applications for new facility constructions
Review jobsite meeting minutes prepared by the architect and/or general contractor
Monitor the landlord/gc’s construction schedule and report any material deviations
Review and validate change order requests
Advise hft with respect to property issues, costs, time extensions, and schedule impacts
Support the project team in managing the resolution of scheduling, coordination and design conflicts
Develop standard specs and standard processes to ensure compliance and accurate delivery
Generate accurate budgets or cost estimates for each project
In conjunction with the director and partners, approve construction specs, drawings, change orders and evaluate bids and certain facilities maintenance expense with cross functional partners or 3rd party engineers
Review and approve individual invoices and capital project summary progress billings
Close-out and reconcile all project issues and costs
Act as primary liaison between the general contractors and project & operations management, to ensure compliance with company policies, practices and procedures
Communicate and manage all issues and risks affecting each facility and projectCommunicates the project status to project participants and stakeholders accurately and on time.
Provide interim and final build out inspections, review punch lists created by provider on each site and ensure all items for completion.
Partner with financial analysts to provide quantitative reports and projections that will assist in the analysis and measurement of the performance and documentation of each construction, renovation and facility maintenance project vsProforma, roi and irr

Travel – 20% to 50% depending on project phase

Bs degree in supply chain, construction, engineering, business management or operationsAdvanced degree a plus.

Strong distribution center construction knowledge and estimating skills
Knowledge of distribution business concepts and material handling installation

At least five years project management experience in retail commercial construction
5+ years in project management in construction (preferably distribution centers) with skills necessary to interpret what is needed for the success of a project and to create appropriate schedules for timely delivery
Approximately 8 to 12 years in leadership and ownership of multiple large, complex projects.
Background as a project manager or program manager includes national, multi-unit retailers with multiple warehouse operations, such as department stores, mass merchants, or other general merchandise retailers;
A history of successful new construction & retrofits, material handling equipment installations, in brownfield or greenfield, within scope on time and on budget.
A history of success operating as a key strategic partner to an energetic senior executive team.
A history of developing and managing to key metrics and scorecards.
Experience working in a high growth environment, with consistently shifting priorities; successful track record of leading companywide supply chain management initiatives from the project management perspective
