Transceiver sales manager
Remote (us only) | full time | unlimited
Main purpose
The transceiver sales manager is responsible for the overall north american responsibilities of transceiver sales with specific focus on product design-in’s at the corporate level and regional increase of sales revenue and overall account penetration and successThe role of the transceiver sales manager is to grow and develop an all-encompassing strategic partnership with the designated network operator accounts and channel partnersThe transceiver sales manager will therefore guide and lead h+s key account managers at existing tier1 carrier accounts, work directly with further accounts and manage channel partners to address small accountsThis position is strategically responsible for identifying and building a partnership with the key accounts and at all affiliated companies and divisions where opportunities might exist; its key personnel and nurturing those relationships to achieve maximum level of business growth and success on behalf of the huber+suhner organizationThis person should have a solid understanding of network operator / carrier account structures and any other affiliated structures and divisions, its headquarter location, personnel and in depth working relationships in understanding of the groups and divisions making transceiver product and technology decisionsStrong ability to open doors, access key personnel, mapping of the account structures, develop and build a strong rapport companywide is mandatoryPosition will work closely with sales personnel; both direct and 3rd party sales representatives, field application engineers, project, market and product manager positionsEmphasis placed in feeding and broadening the opportunity pipeline (crm) with solid lead potentials, building a strong value proposition and overall product and market strategiesPosition will also work closely with the company’s product and market development groups in north america as well as in germany.
Main tasks
Develop and implement a strategic overview; a long term account plan and budget.
To provide a rolling product forecast; monthly report, sales budget, etc.
To achieve preferred vendor status and maintain status year on year.
To coordinate and support the development of executive level contacts between huber+suhner and network operators at hq location(s) as well as in all relevant regional offices.
Proactively engaging with sales, engineering, business development and market managers to ensure the operator is fully aware of the range of products and services offered and how they align to its business objectives.
Representing h+s in a professional manner and being able to demonstrate the significant benefits of working with our company as a strategic partner.
Having a good understanding of our products and being able to demonstrate the benefits clearly.
Plan and lead product innovation and technology seminars at hq as well in all regional offices.
Meet and exceed annual measurable objectives and targets.
Developing and closing new sales opportunitiesMaintain crm funnel.
Develop a good understanding of the customer’s corporate and regional structure’s in order to best position and secure product design-in’s; manage design-in activities and rollout into the regionsMap projects as per roadmap tool.
Acting as the focus for the overall partner relationship within the company and taking responsibility to ensure expectations are consistently met, collaborating with other business functions.
Ensure that customer complaints, issues and queries reach a successful and appropriate conclusionWhere relevant, such matters must be escalated to the relevant department’s manager.
Provide product development feed back to the appropriate market and product management team as necessary.
Adhere to and promote all regulations and guidelines contained in the global management system.
Education
Bachelor of science degree; master degree and / or mba is preferred.
Experience:
5+years relevant industry experience selling transceivers to network operators industry with significant customer interface experience.
Solid track record of success in design, development experience and direct sales.
Skills
Highly effective written, oral and presentation communication skills.
Solid understanding of communication networks and fiber-optic theory and applications as it relates to the carrier market segment.
Self- starter who is driven to succeed and is excited by results based performance management with minimal task related guidance.
Ability to make contact with prospective customers and quickly establish h+s as the preferred company to work with due to superior technical knowledge, follow-up and insight into customer needs.
Excellent ability to create new and maintain existing account relationships.
General understanding of communication networks and architecture; ability to conceptualize and present innovative solutions.
Excellent understanding of the base technology and emerging trends and architecture in the transceiver space and how it relates to the carrier present and future architectures and deployment methodologies.
Proven track record of successfully identifying future customer, market needs, trends and validating them.
Demonstrated ability to build and nurture key relationships at all customer levels.
Personal qualifications:
Proactive, self-motivating with a good grasp of key business drivers.
Ability to travel, up to 50%, as required in support of position objectives.
Ability to work in a fast paced, sales oriented environment.
Self-motivated and ability to prioritize tasks.
Acute customer focus.
Ability to calculate pricing and provide customer proposition.
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
Ability to perform problem analysis and problem resolution.
Ability to work individually as well as part of a remote team.
