We are seeking a regional sales manager (rsm) who will work with the director sales u.sTo help carry out growth objectives within the north america target accounts for the assigned regionThe rsm will have a strong strategic focus on leading the team to generate new demand by shaping technologies and systems with market leading oemsThis high visibility role will interface with all functional areas of the organization, always represent the harting organizational philosophy, and act as the strategic and tactical champion for the region.
Successful rsms will not only excel at generating overall revenue, but also: implementing strategies and plans that directly contribute to the professional development of their direct reports; growing all relevant critical market segments; establishing and expanding strategic customer relationships; and driving products & solutions for the region.
This position will be based from a home office, preferably located or based in san francisco/bay area.
As a sales leader, you will be highly driven to execute successfully in the following areas:
Develop a strategic business plan for the region to support demand generation goals, defined customer development goals, new product sales goals, and customized solutions goals.
Recruit, support, motivate, coach and review performance of territory sales engineers (tses) towards the accomplishment of their individual mbo targets and revenue plan.
Create and facilitate the execution of tse professional development plans to improve performance and strengthen employee retention.
Collaborate with all relevant internal functions (marketing, product management, etc.) to create regionally-specific strategies to support and complement organizational goals.
Coordinate all necessary activities in the assigned sales territory to achieve annual revenue plan overall, as well as by product division.
Ensure a new business opportunity pipeline more than 4x regional growth goal annually, documented in crm and updated by the team on a bi-weekly basis.
Create and present comprehensive, high-level business reviews/updates on a quarterly basis for internal audiences (up to and including vp and ceo level).
Skills and experience to thrive in this role:
B.a./b.sDegree in business, technical/engineering or marketing from four-year college or university (technical or engineering degree preferred (me, ee, ie)
Minimum of 5 years of solution sales experience, 2 yrsOf which are in a sales management role,
Experience in the electrical or electronics industry, preferably having a deep understanding of connectivity technology
Strong leadership and decision-making ability with demonstrated success in building effective sales teams and meeting regional sales goals in highly competitive environments.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, manufacturers’ reps, and other business partners.
Demonstrated ability to recruit & lead a growing team of direct reports with an emphasis on performance, professional development/improvement, and retention.
Proven track record significant revenue growth with solutions selling in technical products/applications within markets served: industrial automation, machinery, transportation, and/or energy verticals.
