Job summary:
Globalstar is looking for a seasoned regional sales manager in the commercial iot telecom space with an extensive background in either agriculture, alternative energy or other verticals that would benefit from satellite technologyThis is a frontline sales role focused on obtaining new direct business as well as through the development of value-added resellers (var’s), value added manufacturers (vam’s), agents and integrators within the assigned territory.

Duties/responsibilities:
Use existing iot relationships to obtain new business
A focus on asset tracking in wireless or satellite or both preferred
Identify opportunities and risks to new business within all vertical markets, such as agriculture, alternative energy, and transportation, government.
Identify and maintain a target list of potential, direct business, vars, vam’s, agents, & integrators by sector and geography, using secondary research, consulting sales and marketing, attending sector trade shows, and other relevant sources
Qualify leads through research, phone interviews, and face-to-face meetings
Provide hardware forecast to management on a quarterly and annual basis
Target and gain input on trade shows that would benefit globalstar product segment in the iot space
Expand distribution to exceed sales goals as defined in the quarterly sales commission plan
Work with marketing and sales leadership to provide feedback on product improvements and suggestions
Train and assist vars, vams, and integrators in sales and marketing activities
Maintain sales reports in crm
Participate in quarterly sales conferences, and provide support to other field sales personnel as directed
Handle all potential customer inquiries and issues with a focus on promoting globalstar products and services, using defined sales techniques and processes
Required skills/abilities:
Detail oriented with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Ability to act independently and as part of a large team
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and quotas
Self-motivated with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication (both written and oral), organizational and interpersonal skills
Education and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
6+ years of commercial iot field sales and sales management experience
Experience with sales and marketing in iot markets
Proven experience in vertical markets such as agriculture, alternative energy, and transportation, and government as well as other vertical industries
Understanding of the telecoms industry; ideally satellite communications
Experience in scaling business through partners
Experience in direct acquisition of customers
Proven track record of sales results and revenue growth
Physical requirements:
Ability to travel as required, moderate to extensive travel – when travel restrictions are lifted
