Job description:
A challenging, multi-faceted position for an experienced laboratory professional wishing to utilize international skills or obtain global public health experience.
The global health technical specialist provides organizational and technical support to gsshealth international public health projectsThe technical specialist works with clients to implement and track project activities.
This position is to support projects in francophone countries in west africa and the candidate should be fluent in both french and english
Responsibilities:
Liaises with gsshealth clients to ensure timely implementation of project activities
Plans project activities according to agreed deliverables
Develops and delivers didactic workshops and laboratory practicums
Coordinates international workshops
Advises on diagnostic products
Prepares written technical procedures
Participates in elearning and workshop content development
Other activities as required
Requirements:
Education: bachelor`s degree with a major or minor in a relevant field, master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, health administration or bioscience.
Experience: 5+ years clinical laboratory experience requiredExperience in resource-limited settings highly desirableProficiency in both french and english is required.
Knowledge and skills:
Interest in health and development programs in low and low-middle income countries
Implementation of quality assurance programs
Biosafety levels 2 and 3
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to work on a variety of special projects, concurrently
Ability to work under pressure
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in microsoft office suite
Proficiency or fluency in french and english is required
Availability to travel up to 20%
