Summary:
Gse solutions leverages five decades of proven industry experience and is searching for an experienced engineering supervisorGse dp engineering’s engineering supervisor specializes in providing consulting engineering services to the nuclear utility industry and operating facilities by leading, mentoring, and motivating team members to successfully complete studies, calculations, analysis, drawing revisions, change packages, etc.
Essential functions:
Provide technical direction, oversight, and mentorship to team to ensure quality work that is on time and within budget.
Conducts review of product quality, resolve technical issues, and facilitate problem resolution with the various stakeholders.
Provides direct and immediate feedback to team on performance issues to ensure there is adequate training for successful completion of work and to ensure career growth of team.
Visits clients to develop relationships, support project meetings, and develop new business opportunities.
Identifies any project issues that may affect project quality, schedule, or budget to the project manager and responsible engineer as soon as it is discovered.
Out of scope items are identified and discussed with the project manager and project engineer to ensure no work is performed until approved by the client and pm.
Supports project manager in preparation of scopes of work, budget, and schedules for proposals.
Ensures projects and assignments are completed at or below proposed budget and meets project timelines.
Maintains an individual percent billable as determined by goals set by the president.
Support / perform engineering calculations, technical drawings, plans, and specifications as required to support design work
Support and participate in the collaboration with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, client teams, vendors and contractors for the successful completion of contracted work
Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process
Competencies:
Strong verbal & written communication skills
Ability to lead multiple projects and meet deadlines
Basic working knowledge and ability using tools for scheduling, projecting, tracking, managing time and dollars spent on projects.
Ability to work as part of a team & mentor, coach & lead engineers
Must have strong knowledge of engineering services in the nuclear industry
Basic working knowledge of microsoft 365
Interpersonal skills – team player with ability to interface effectively with different levels of the organization both internally and with clients.
Must have strong knowledge of engineering services, especially nuclear.
Ability to initiate and prepare staffing and revenue forecasts and project budgets.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and lead a group of engineers and support personnel.
Must be capable of obtaining unescorted access at nuclear plants and other facilities.
Education & experience:
Bs degree in mechanical or civil engineering from an abet accredited program or equivalent experience in engineering related activities in industries served by company;
7+ years of experience in design engineering for a firm doing similar work as company supporting nuclear and industrial projects
Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience for a firm doing similar work as company supporting nuclear and industrial projects
Professional engineers (pe) license preferred but not required
