Franklin university, located in columbus, ohio, is seeking a part-time 12-month, lead faculty member for its adult gerontology primary care nurse practitioner programThe position will require daytime availability and work 24 hours weeklyResponsibilities include: course development; teaching; administrative oversight of courses; hiring, mentoring and managing adjunct faculty; promoting teaching effectiveness; networking and participation in the professional community; and university service/committee workFaculty members work in collaboration with instructional designers, practitioners in the field, our in-house multimedia group and peers to create adult-centered active-learning courses.
This position requires candidates to possess a terminal degree in nursing/nursing science or related field: phd, dnp or dnsc (candidates with abd status may be considered)Certification as an adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner is required and board certification must be maintainedThe successful candidate must possess a current, unencumbered rn and np license in the usIn addition, the candidate must possess at least four years of practical experience in a wide variety of areas within the discipline, including practice as a npThe successful candidate must maintain current licensure and all certifications for duration of employmentCandidates must have demonstrated success in teaching and learning and have at least two years of prior
