The purpose of this position is to plan and perform work requiring sound technical judgment in the evaluation, organization, and execution of project management assignments worldwideThis role has the responsibility to perform the essential job duties and functions as listed below with the overall objective of managing and/or coordinating project activities that are in compliance with the contract and ensure the safety, quality, value, timeliness, and fluor profitability of the completed projectPerforming assigned general duties of limited scope and level of responsibility, this position is designed to develop broader project management knowledge and experienceAt this level, the role may have the responsibility as the only project specialist on a medium size project with full accountability for the general duties, or the responsibility for general duties on a larger or more complex segment of a very large project.
Perform basic project engineering functions involving monitoring of progress, preparation of procedures, documentation of communications and meetings, and identification/evaluation of project issues and problems
Coordinate efforts of technical disciplines, vendors and licensors to ensure integrated and complete designs that meet project requirements and contractual obligations
Review subcontractor’s red line and as-built drawings to ensure project requirements are metReturn marked up drawings to subcontractors highlighting errors and/or deficiencies
Support creation and coordination of overall project plans and schedules, and monitoring activities, progress, and milestones against the plans
Support creation and coordination of project effort hours, and cost estimates and budgets, and monitor progress and cost performance against these
Support the preparation, delivery and coordination of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages

Basic job requirements
Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and six (6) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines

Make use of fluor university courses for continued learning experiences
Utilize knowledge management communities to capture, support and leverage relevant knowledge to enhance project execution
Software knowledge and proficiency:
Bluebeam (pdf mark-up software)
Microsoft office suite
Experience with building information model (bim) modeling using autodesk revit is a plus
Understanding and experience with mechanical construction drawings, including shop drawings, that include:

Check building’s hvac equipment, duct work routing plans, sections, elevations, airflow diagrams, and domestic plumbing and fire-protection systems using autodesk autocad and navisworks.
Coordinate and resolve hvac, plumbing and fire-protection interfaces with other disciplinesRevise drawings from redline mark-ups and as-builtChecking contractor drawings and vendor drawings against project specifications and proceduresResponsible for electronic project files management, assigning drawing numbers, revisions, and issuing drawings via coreworx to document control to meet all deliverables schedule.
Us citizenship required
Six (6) years of experience in engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management (epfc/cm) industry including the performance of functional tasks on projects with a well developed understanding of procedures and interfaces
Experience participating in risk assessments initiatives
Without supervision has proactively reached out to others to solve unexpected conflicts or clashes that prevents construction mishaps and upholds the overall quality of the work
Previous successful performance in a project engineering/specialist position on a minimum of two (2) medium or large sized projects
Detailed knowledge of fluor’s software tools and databases preferred
Ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships while meeting the company’s needs
Flexible and adaptable approach, willingness to take on new work challenges; adaptable to changing circumstances
Demonstrated strategic thinking, accountability, and adaptability skills
Ability to set and maintain high standards of performance with responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments and tasks
Customer focused with ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships while meeting the company’s needs
Proactive reporting of progress and accomplishments of assignments and apply necessary follow-up to monitor progress and results of project tasks and assignments
Analytical approach to problem solving and identifying potential solutions
Technical and business writing skills
Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, email, spreadsheets, electronic presentations, and project management tools
Certification in project management suggested, for example project management professional (pmp)
