The iot field engineer is responsible for ensuring flowserve iot systems are successfully and correctly installed at customer field environmentsYou will work with flowserve engineering, operations and sales teams to become familiar with each system applicationThis includes performing site assessments to understand customer requirements and asset applicationCommunication of these requirements to operations and engineering personnel is key to ensuring the system is built and configured appropriately.
Expectations include travelling to customer sites (co and ca, for instance) to supervise and/or assist with iot products` mechanical installation and system commissioning (including field sensors, hardware and hmi interfaces), field acceptance testing, and customer trainingThis role is also required to keep track of any open/unresolved items from field travel and coordinate internal resources to ensure completion of those items.

Responsibilities & requirements:
Work with local sales and management personnel to ensure flowserve meets its commitments to its lca agreements and clients.
Perform/supervise the installation of edge devices and communication network (wireless or wired) to implement an end-to-end condition monitoring and predictive analytics system at industrial sites (o&g, chemicals, water, power, general industry).
Site assessments of equipment health, maintenance requirements, customers’ existing dcs/power connections, communication quality and general review of asset performance.
Performing pre- and post- site walkdownsFollowing up with detailed trip reports.
Work with commercial operations to scope out jobs from a technical point of view and follow up on issued proposals.
Works remotely with flowserve’s monitoring center team to ensure hardware and software communication quality is to specification.
Participate in testing of hardware at the factory and at customer facilities.
Drafts site implementation plans and gains approval from the end-user prior to site installation.
Implement communications interfaces between field devices and online portal or customer data system (dcs) utilizing technologies such as modbus over rs485, modbus over tcp/ip and ethernet.
Conduct site acceptance testing to ensure complete system functionality in accordance with internal and customer standards.
Provide technical system training to both internal and external customers.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in field environment or remotely, when required.
Contribute to products and services development and implementation, maintaining detailed product knowledge including documentation, system components and architectures, cloud portal capabilities, and new training tools/programs.
Travel up to 50%.
Basic qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent engineering degreePreferably in electrical/electronic engineering and/or systems engineering.
5-10 years hands on experience installing wireless communications hardware, or similar equipment in industrial environments (oil & gas, chemical manufacturing, or similar preferred).
Working knowledge with iot technologies (hardware and software).
Experience with process instrumentation and the mounting of them.
Can meet both flowserve & customer safety, health & physical requirements
Working knowledge in manufacturing process, engineering concepts & rotating equipment and financial management.
Skills needed: clear communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, customer service, consulting, conflict management, time management & project management
Creative problem solver & aptitude for applied learningAbility to plan, drive and manage required actions in remote field environments.
Preferred experience / skills:
Vibration specialist certification (level 1 or level 2) is a plus
Experience with dcs systems (honeywell, foxboro, ge etc.)
Scada
Communications (wifi, satellite) and high-performance computing systems is a plus
