Company background florence health is a next-generation primary care provider growing rapidly in towns and cities around the countryNamed after the legendary nurse florence nightingale, florence was founded in 2019 with a simple mission: to serve the patient, above all elseFlorence is currently available to medicare patients exclusively, and operates fully at risk for all of our patients` outcomes and spend, enabling our clinics to invest in the delivery of added benefits, services and staffing that are not possible in a fee-for-service environment.
Florence`s relentless focus on patient satisfaction and care results, through our platform of medical professionals, staff, technology, and premium modern clinic spaces designed from the ground up, has earned us a reputation with our patients of going above and beyond on every facet of service delivery - from the front desk to the exam and follow-up experience, and everything in betweenFlorence will enter 2022 at full risk for more than 25,000 medicare patients across multiple states and annual revenues of over $350 million, and continues to grow at over 100% year-on-year.
The gm role this newly created general manager role will oversee the virtual clinical staff – currently 25 team members and counting – that executes the backend operations across our growing number of primary care clinics and affiliated providersKey to florence’s delivery model is this virtual clinical staff – primarily composed of full-time registered nurses and medical assistants, working both in high-tech offices and remotely from home, responsible for driving key patient support functions across all of our locations behind the scenes.
The virtual clinical staff leads the preparation and follow-through for all of our patient-provider encounters, closes gaps on referrals/study follow-ups, manages all inbound/outbound patient phone calls and emergent needs, and executes a variety of other complex data-driven tasks that are critical to making sure we provide the care our patients deserve.
The role will report directly to the ceo, and is a natural entrée to expanded leadership and entrepreneurial roles over time.
What we’re looking for: the role is best matched to someone who is both operationally minded (cares about “things running smoothly and effectively”) and leadership & development minded (cares about `maximizing each team member`s potential` and helping them develop over time on their own personalized path).
While the role will oversee the virtual clinical staff operations, we are not prioritizing clinical background for this position – rather we are looking for candidates with operational and leadership super powersInterest or background in health care services is a plus, but given that the role will be sufficiently paired with clinical teammates that are responsible for clinical quality assurance, clinical team experience is not a hard requirement.
Additional characteristics we`re looking for:
A shared buy-in to the mission
Strong organization and analytical skills – these skills are critical to designing and scaling successful team processes in order to drive operational success across various patient health and satisfaction outcomes
High eq and natural respect and collaborative spirit for people at all stations, junior and senior, rather than a transactional interpersonal mindset
An entrepreneurial drive, ability to create order from chaos, and willingness to get to the bottom of a problem when necessary and roll up sleeves to directly solve challenging problems where required
An appreciation for leadership roles, and an embrace of teamwork, communication and the opportunity to foster and develop bright team members
Self-accountability, as well as the ability to identify your team members` strengths and weaknesses and help them develop and grow overtime
Intrinsic motivation and values, including accountability and ownership for the medical assisting responsibilities and expectations.
Benefits & perks: florence health employees are united in our quest to improve the health and well-being of our patientsWe seek to empower all of our team members to fulfill that mission and reach their full potential regardless of function, geography or experience levelThat’s why we invest in our employees, who are our most important asset in achieving our mission.
To this end, we offer:
Leading compensation packages at all levels throughout the company
Covered medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance plan options
Sponsored 401(k) plan, with up to 5% matching contribution
Paid time off and paid sick leave, along with additional case-based categories of leave (e.gParental leave)
Work-from-home options when applicable
Covered meals and amenities on a regular basis when working in office
Monthly company-wide “virtual happy hour” encompassing all clinics, corporate offices, and work-from-home team members
