Purpose:
Commercial merchandise product specialists are subject matter experts who can provide the necessary product knowledge and recommendations to assist in closing and maintaining commercial jobs for regional account managers (rams) and pro teamsThis role is a conduit between rams, merchandising, inventory and operations teamsThis position will also work closely with internal and external teams to build and execute merchandising and product initiatives to support commercial growth.
Minimum eligibility requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business and/or merchandising preferred (relevant experience can be substituted for the required education based on one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education)
At least one year of merchandising, inventory, product or project management experience in the retail or commercial sector
Strategic thinker with proven experience of ability to recognize, influence and maximize engagement with cross-functional teams
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines both independently and as a team member
Motivated, process-oriented, self-starter with ability to analyze, understand, and manage a large amount of information and data with high quality results
Must demonstrate problem solving and excellent customer service skills while working well under pressure.
Ability to mentor team members as needed
Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written)
Intermediate to advance level microsoft office suite skills (specifically excel)
Experience with salesforce / crm software is a plus.
Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
Essential job functions:
Provide product recommendations, solutions and tailor client presentations based on project requirements to close sales.
Partner with merchant teams and vendors to create custom product solutions for commercial projects.
Partner with commercial sales, support and operational teams to create inventory strategies to meet commercial project deadlines and job requirements.
Assist commercial merchandise manager and merchant teams with specific category planning, buying, analysis, inventory management, promotion, and collateral for commercial category initiatives.
Create applicable comprehensive commercial merchandising training and sales materials for commercial teams.
Create, provide, and maintain merchandising sales tools for the field from a commercial perspective.
Responsible for leading and owning assigned projects, taking actions, and providing directions to ensure successful and timely project completion
Lead and interact with other departments and external teams to ensure commercial project success
Perform additional functions, duties and specific tasks of a similar nature and scope as necessary to achieve assigned business objectives
W orking conditions (travel & environment)
Work-from-home availability (prerequisite of a quiet and distraction-free working space, must maintain internet and wi-fi access.)
Limited travel required travel required including air and car travel
Physical/sensory requirements
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
Commercial support center hours:
Monday – friday: 7:00 am - 8:00 pm est
Saturday: closed est
Sunday: closed est
