Director of National Dealership Sales

We are seeking a high-performing, strategic-minded Director of National Dealership Sales to spearhead our sales operations across the nation. The Director of National Sales will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies that expand our customer base and ensure strong presence in the market. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of success in sales, a strong understanding of the new construction equipment sales market, and excellent leadership skills.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
- Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
- Review market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates.
- Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition.
- Represent company at trade association meetings to promote products.
- Coordinate liaison between the sales department and other sales-related units.
- Analyze sales statistics to formulate policy and assist in promoting sales.
- Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
- Meet with key clients, assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
- Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
- Proven experience in a senior sales role, with at least 10 years in the construction or heavy equipment sales/dealership industry.
- Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development.
- Exceptional negotiation and team management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite and CRM software.
- Ability to travel frequently.
- Experience working with construction equipment and knowledge of new equipment sales market trends and conditions.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field. MBA preferred.
