Due to continued growth, our nuclear services group is seeking a life cycle management (lcm) engineer to join the enercon team based in our kennesaw, ga or chattanooga, tn location or if sme in license renewal they can potentially be remoteThis position can be ft, pt or ltlb.
Responsibilities (including but are not limited to)
Develop lcm plans for nuclear power plants in the u.s.
Develop capital project cost evaluations for nuclear power plants in the u.sSupporting the feasibility of extending nuclear plants from 60 to 80 years of operation.
Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analysis in support of life cycle management documents and/or capital project cost evaluations supporting subsequent license renewal feasibility studies.
Monitor changing regulatory trends and maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements, guidelines, practices, and industry standards of the nuclear industry.
Review, edit, and approve documents in the preparation of life cycle management documents and/or capital project cost evaluations supporting subsequent license renewal feasibility studies.
Develop relationships with current and potential clients plant staff with regular interface to ensure client satisfaction as well as pro-active identification of support opportunities.
Provide input to project/program work schedule regarding the duration/scope of regulatory issues and the time/scope/effort involved in resolving them in order to implement project.
Support/review studies, conceptual design and plant modification packages for impact on licensing basis, and 50.59 screening/safety evaluations.
Required qualifications / skills
Bachelor`s degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering from an accredited university.
10+ years of experience in the nuclear industry with 3+ of it spent developing life cycle management plans and/or capital project cost evaluations.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulations, regulatory agencies, and the regulatory processes supporting design and licensing of nuclear plants including the documentation that supports these processes.
Must possess knowledge and understanding of nuclear power plant design, and operations.
Preparation of life cycle management plan documents and/or capital project cost evaluation documents.
Site coordination of implementation of license renewal commitments and aging management programs.
Ability to represent enercon with clients at nuclear power plants.
Must have strong organizational and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated competencies in technical writing, facilitation, and decision-making.
Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites and meet nrc security and client security requirements.
Ability to work in time constraining regulatory environment while maintaining a quality product.
Must be able to work productively with other staff, at all levels, in a team environment.
Provide direct project support as an individual contributor or team leader.
Technical proficiency in understanding general engineering, design, and the nuclear industry.
Required to travel up to 25% of the time; duration of travel length varying depending on project and client needs.
Preferred qualifications / skills
Professional engineering (pe) license, sro, or other nuclear power plant-related licenses or certificates.
Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings; enercon and client-specific background checks; and an annual motor vehicle record (mvr) according to company and client policies.
Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites.
Must be legally eligible to work in the us without current or future sponsorship.
