A typical branch office has one financial advisor who meets with clients face-to-face and one branch office administrator who enhances the team`s ability to build deep relationships with clientsHeadquarters associates in stLouis and tempe provide support and expertise to help u.sAnd canada branch teams deliver an ideal client experienceEdward jones currently has more branch offices than any other financial services firm, and we continue to grow to meet the needs of long-term individual investorsThe sr batch scheduling analyst on the enterprise batch services team will be expected to work closely with application support teams as well as infrastructure teams supporting implementation and maintenance of batch jobs and reports, maintain and performance tune the batch schedule, provide testing support with upgrades and new releases, ensure optimum performance, provide support for business continuance efforts, and provide miscellaneous support for users, command center operations, and other technology organizations.
Support the design and implementation of batch processes for ca-7 and autosys workload automation
Lead production batch walkthroughs to assure quality of batch job implementations
Ensure adherence to appropriate batch process documentation, restart instructions, and standards
Provide direction on projects that involve complicated scheduling needs.
Provide support for batch jobs and report implementations and requests (mobius view direct (infopac))
Administer, implement, and maintain batch jobs and schedules for ca-7 and autosys workload automation.
Implement and update jobs and schedules
Maintain processing calendars
Fine tune the schedule, adjusting job activities to better utilize computing resources
Evaluate and improve the overall performance regarding batch processing
Identify opportunities and implement automated solutions to avoid future problems and promote continuous improvement
Support processes, procedures and controls
Create/maintain procedures, processes, standards related to batch processing.
Ensure compliance with standards and policies and make recommendations for updates as needed
Develop reporting and execute processes to support controls
Support issues involving batch processing and related products
Provide daily support for production batch scheduling issues and related tools
Trouble-shoot problems regarding job scheduling/processing
Provide 1st and 2nd level support for job scheduling / batch processing issues
Provide 24x7 on call support
Provide scheduling support for hardware/software upgrades/maintenance
Work with system support teams in support of new and upgraded products
Provide support and assistance for disaster recovery
Create, review, update, execute validation/test plans and test sets for products, software upgrades and disaster recovery events
Self-manage to effectively utilize time management to plan, schedule and prioritize own work and multi-task effectively.
Perform related work as necessary or assigned.
Bachelor`s degree or equivalent experience in information systems
5+ years` experience in a large-scale distributed data center operation
3+ years` experience with major scheduling packages like ca workload automation, ca-7, autosys (experienced with scheduling jobs using ca7/ca11 and autosys preferred)
Knowledge of jcl, mvs/esa operating system, tso/ispf, cics and ops/mvs related products
Knowledge of unix and database concepts
Experience with view direct report distribution (infopac) preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a team environment and/or as an individual contributor
Ability to perform entry-level programming and shell scripting is a plus
