Eaton’s electrical engineering and services is currently seeking a lead electrical project manager to join our teamThis position will be based at our glendale hts, il location, another eaton facility, or remote.
Position overview:
The lead electrical project manager is responsible for the use of modern project management tools and techniques to execute projects related to the engineering, procurement, and construction of electrical power system modificationsModernization projects will relate to the electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution industry with focus on complex turnkey electrical generation (conventional and renewables) and distribution projects these type of project entail significant eaton equipment familiarity and service platforms around eaton equipmentThe lead electrical project manager will use his/her knowledge of industrial and utility power distribution equipment, power system engineering, substation design, & construction safety to deliver projects with a high degree of professionalism and safetyThe lead electrical project manager will have full responsibility of project and authority to complete his/her assigned project from inception to scope development, planning, execution, management of people and resourcesHe or she will have the discipline to create clear and achievable cost, quality, and schedule objectives and follow these objectives through to successful completion.
The lead electrical project manager will also provide technical leadership to the district sales & service teamsIndividual must be capable of self-managing and directing a team on awarded projects for electrical equipment, including working knowledge of electrical substation design & installationEquipment includes transformers, oil circuit breakers, power circuit breakers, power supplies, integrated housings, protective relaying, power cable, substation equipment, motor control centers, medium voltage control, excitation equipment, automatic transfer switches, rotating equipment, and ac drives.
Candidate must have a strong focus on customer satisfaction and a track record of successful project execution experience to deliver technical solutions to customersStrong communication and interpersonal skills are a must, with ability to be flexible to adjust to changing project conditionsStrong computer skills are requiredTravel is required.

In this function you will:
Manages & maintains the commercial contract between eaton and its customers
Estimates, prepares, submits, and manages change orders between customer and eaton
Manages and communicates the scope of work & responsibilities between eaton’s customers, eaton’s employees, & eaton’s suppliers / sub-contractors
Establishes, and manages the contract(s) between eaton and its vendors & subcontractors
Plans, establishes, maintains, and regularly updates a project schedule on assigned projects
Manages communication, and distributes documentation between eaton and its customers
Monitors, reports, and controls costs on assigned projects within estimated project margin
Reports, forecasts, and presents project financial activity to eaton’s management
Prepares, distributes, and follows through with project safety plan
Responsible for financial performance of project including profitability, project revenue, and cash flow

Qualifications
Required (basic) qualifications:
Bs electrical engineering from an accredited institution
Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience or minimum 10 years of project management experience.
Must be legally authorized to work in the united states without company sponsorship.
Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the work locations listed as no relocation is being offered for this position.
Preferred qualifications:
Professional engineer qualification
Working knowledge of nerc/ferc, nesc, nec, ansi, neta
Pmp certified
Position criteria:
Successfully complete and maintain compliance with eaton’s safety program and policies
Periodically submit to background/drug screens as required by customers for on-site work
Osha 30 certification
First aid and cpr trained
Demonstrated experience with microsoft project or primavera scheduling software
Demonstrated experience with microsoft office suite – excel, outlook, word, teams, powerpoint, etc.
