Job description: Deltek is seeking a results-oriented, detail-driven technical program manager with strong experience managing cloud infrastructure programsIn this high visibility, key strategic position, the program manager is responsible for managing technical programs and large strategic projectsThis includes, but not limited to software development, cloud deployment projects, organizational change management, documentation, tenant onboarding, and ongoing supportThe program manager will be responsible several concurrent cloud deployment projects coordinating and managing the cloud operations activities and will be accountable for on-time, on-budget, high quality software project deliveriesAs the services require a deep technical understanding in making hard tradeoffs, the individual must be comfortable collaborating with the leaders of technical teams and customer facing teams such as the cloud operations security team, cloud operations infrastructure team, database system administrators, customer care, consulting and product management The pm is also expected to contribute to program management, cloud implementation and customer software development best practices. Specific responsibilities: Program and project execution
Manage dependencies, including but not limited to deployment schedules, between related cloud delivery projects Proactively identify, mitigate, and prioritize, manage and resolve program/project issues, constraints, dependencies and risks. Coordinate program-level cross-org decision making, issue resolution, planning needed to delivery for deltek products and services. Successfully integrate multiple projects into single view for strategic decision makingAbility to facilitate strategic decision making via understanding of technical / business priorities and evaluation of potential outcomes / impacts. Develop and manage organizational change management / transition plans, needed to implement and maintain security and data privacy compliance Regularly communicate with executive management and program stakeholders on status, risks and program metrics, providing transparency into program Significant influencer and trusted adviser on program with stakeholders at the senior management / executive level, across deltek functional units. Tailor program management best practices to add value based upon specific program needs. Manage projects with high complexity, risk, and/or business criticality.
Leadership within pmo
Champion and key contributor of continuous improvement of project management best practices, using innovative ideas to increase effectiveness of organization. Contributes to program management best practices, augmenting existing processes and work products and creation of new ones. Actively mentors project manager resources.
Key requirements of the successful candidate:
Strong understanding of the development life cycle for enterprise software products, with knowledge of both agile and traditional project management practicesAble to blend and “right-size” these practices to fit the project and business need. Deltek is a fast-paced environment; the ability to multitask on different projects concurrently and react quickly to movements in the business is critical. A strong communicator with the ability to pull out and summarize information, tailor communication style and content for executives, comfortable and confident presenting to executives, ability to work with remote teams. Driven, proactive and a doer. Have an understanding of the “bigger picture”Be able to conceptualize where and how the program fits into the company’s missionMust be able to establish program goals, validate and confirm acceptance, challenge stakeholders, and hold stakeholders accountable. Enough technical insight to become a credible leader with operational teams, to facilitate resolution of technical issues, and to evaluate complex project issues and risks. Able to communicate with customers to gather requirements, gather feedback during implementations and support issue resolution during deployments.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration or a related discipline At least ten years of progressively responsible experience on large scale software development projects, preferably for an enterprise software product At least five years of experience directly managing cloud infrastructure projects of significant scale and complexity, coordinating cross-functional teams Experience working on programs related to security, data privacy or establishing, monitoring and maintaining compliance with it security and information assurance requirements (i.eFisma, fips, fedramp, nist) Experience as program manager with executive-level stakeholders High energy and passion for the job Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven experience managing projects with remote teams in distributed, world-wide locations. Experience working in a pmo (desirable)
