The outreach dental consultant is responsible for developing a plan to recruit and maintain dental providers for participation in the medi-cal dental programThrough direct communication, including on-site meetings, the outreach dental consultant will develop relationships with dental professionals, key stakeholders, and organizations to promote the medi-cal dental program as well as increase beneficiary oral health knowledge and access to care. This position requires the incumbent to be located in the los angeles area, and will work remotely while traveling state-wide.
How you will make an impact:
Develops action steps to recruit and maintain dental provider participation in the medi-cal dental program, concentrating on designated under-served counties to increase beneficiary knowledge and access. Initiates and maintains direct communication with dental professionals, dhcs, the california dental association, county oral health coalitions, beneficiary stakeholders, county government offices (first 5, head start, women, children and infant (wic) offices) to promote the denti-cal program and beneficiary access to care. Schedules travel and conducts on-site meetings and presentations with dental professionals (individual and group meetings, seminars or office visits) in all regions throughout the state to encourage participation in the medi-cal dental program. Schedules travel and conducts on-site meetings designed to increase university (particularly graduating) dental students’ participation in the medi-cal dental program.
What we look for:
2+ years w/bachelor’s degree. A dds or dms degree from an accredited dental school. A minimum of 5+ years clinical setting. Active and unencumbered license and good standing with the dental licensing board. Ability to travel up to 80%. Strong organizational/time management skills and multi-tasking abilities. Customer service, conflict management and dispute resolution skills. Knowledge of health care industry issues. Good standing with the dental licensing board of the appropriate state. Pc literacy required; msoffice skills (outlook, word, excel, powerpoint). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to others. Dds - doctor of dental surgery accredited dental school required Ddm - doctor of dental medicine accredited dental school required
