Your impact
The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to: pre-season
Partner with brand product and planning teams on long range planningOwn and align dtc channel financials with product briefs, range plans, brand mfp, dtc mfp, kpis and targets.
Strong understanding of business statistics and global landscape.
Develop dtc range plans that deliver brand and channel objectivesCollaborate with brand product and regional dtc merchandising teams to ensure dtc range plans support global consistency and appropriate brand positioning.
Collaborate with wholesale & outlet merchandising team on strategic management of key product franchises and cohesive marketplace perspective on product strategies.
Guide the tops-down sales, margin, inventory, and style-color count targets for the upcoming season, considering brand strategies, product knowledge, sales history, and channel trendsFlex strategic approaches for both mature and emerging categories.
Drive partnership with innovation team and heavy product experimentation
Drive a deep understanding of the dtc customerLead and augment consumer insights to impact broader businessApply insights to product assortments and go to market strategies.
Own and optimize assortments with greater scope and complexityEnsure cohesion across divisions, and lead assortment plans that achieve style-color count targets and productivity targets while creating a customer experience that aligns with the brand and channel initiatives.
Unlocks new opportunities through creative use of assortment building and inventory management best practices.
Own and lead pre-season go to market meeting with retail and visual merchandising leaders on gtm strategies for the seasonOversee alignment on gtm plans and strategies, and creation of go to market calendars; communicate pre-season gtm plans with key partners including marketing, visual merchandising, and retail teams.
Ensure alignment with brand marketing on gtm strategyEnsure key item buys, looks, and pricing strategies are being communicated with marketing, visual merchandising, and retail teams.
Guide the bottoms-up planning of merchant assortments, ensuring sales, margin, and inventory plans support merchant vision while meeting financial and operational needs.
Lead the development of product education-focused content and presentationsSupport product education efforts for the dtc cross-functional team.
In-season
Lead merchant insight based on actual results versus pre-season plans, in-season forecasts, and history.
Serve as a leader of the dtc cross-functional teamContribute to cohesive cross-functional partnership, aligning insights and action plans to optimize sales, margin, and inventory kpis.
Take an action-oriented approach to managing the business each week:
Make recommendations for the current pricing calendar, marketing, and visual presentations.
Partner with allocation to optimize inventory by store and across channels.
Make recommendations for exit strategies for slow sellers.
Partner with wholesale & outlet to optimize end of season inventory closeouts.
Maintain integrity of assortment, finding a balance between delivering pre-season product strategies and flexing to meet business needs in-season.
Ensure successful execution of action plans by merchant team.
Play forward insights to impact the business proactively in future months.
Provide forward-looking product-driven inputs to monthly open to buy meetings, and ensure business results support otb and long-range plans.
Ensure pricing execution work owned by team is executed flawlessly.
Shop competing stores and websites to monitor trends, pricing strategies, and presentation techniquesReport industry information to team.
Analyze quarterly hindsight dataMake recommendations to future product lines and dtc assortments based on results and learnings.
Assist with elt data and reporting needs.
People management
Manage a team of 3+ people.

We’d love to hear from people with
5+ years of merchandising or buying experience.
2+ years managing others.
Retail experience required; additional ecommerce experience preferred
Footwear and apparel experience preferred.
Proficient in excel and retail math.
Able to see the big picture and the details.
Strong communication & problem-solving skills.
High taste level and passion for product.
Must be willing to travel 10%-15% of the time.
